You want to learn to grade from photograph? Go to Heritage and look at them until your eyes blur. Do it again for the next year. Do it some more for the next five. That's what I did, and just like anything -- it takes practice. Books are useless, IMO.
p.s. I still think this coin is a 64 in hiding. It is a very clean coin, but I wonder about the luster and if that's not why it is in a 63 slab.
Been there. Done that. Got the tee shirt. And I still check on things either just to make sure of or series that I am not so familiar with.
I would go so far as to say anyone who does well in this little contest has spent their fair share of staring at photos on Heritage, eBay, TeleTrade, etc.
