Hello everyone, I hope that everyone's Thanksgiving was a blessed one. I ate 2 dinners.. At my mom's with her amazing Puertorican style dishes and at my mother in law's place with Dominican style cooking Thursday morning I did a 4 hour Metal Detecting hunt at Highland Park in Queens NYC.. (Yes.. Thanksgiving morning) New YouTube Video Check out this spectacular 1919 Standing Liberty Quarter 1934 Winged Liberty Head Dime 5 Indian Head Cents 14 Wheat Cents Skeleton Key - Rusty 1940's - 1950's Schick Safety Razor Everything

That's an absolutely beautiful haul! I love the button with the crossed rifles. Any history to that one, that you know?
With all those finds it’s a good thing you went detecting before you ate both meals. Glad you had a great Thanksgiving Paddy!
It was difficult to find SLQ's that nice when they were still in ready circulation back in the 50's. I would put that in my book without hesitation.
I just added this video to the first post @Kentucky @BuffaloHunter @Collecting Nut @Oldhoopster @masterswimmer @1776 @Jeffjay @Mat @Inspector43
The 1919 SLQ is worth quite a bit more than melt. Maybe $30 to $40. You don't see many SLQ's minted before 1925 with nice full dates like yours.
Consider the real value of 25 cents back when that SLQ was lost. A person could get a meal for 2 bits. I can believe that the person who dropped it must have spent considerable time looking. That makes it even less probable for it to be found today. Sometime in the 50's I dropped a Walking Liberty Half in my back yard. I spent days looking for it. Never did find it. Very special find Ed.
I stopped by that house a couple of years ago. We moved out of it in 1970. The house next door has been torn down and the basement filled. All the ground has been moved around. There was a cistern near where I dropped the coin. It has been filled in. However, with your equipment and talent we may be able to get a signal.
