Would you buy a America the Beautiful 5 oz. Sliver Bullion coin? How much do you think it should cost? how much will it cost? How much would pay for one? At $18 an oz x 5= $90 , but my guess the price would its going to be real high but it is a "bullion coin" so I guess $150 I would pay $175 .If it is $100 I would buy every diffrent one. We will see what the goverment thinks the price of silver bullion is worth when it comes out. What one would you pick ,I would pick Yosomite.
For the right park I would. I kinda want to be at the KS ceremony; it's just down the road from my hometown. I have a while to wait though.
As in Kansas. The Tall Grass Prairie National Preserve is the 2nd to last quarter. It's near Strong City KS. I'm hoping the 5 oz. will be available at the commemorated parks by then!
I'm not planning on owning one, but apparently director Moy thinks these will be a hit.... he's investigating striking numismatic versions of these in addition to the bullion coins.... in proof and different finishes. And all this while not planning to strike any proof silver Eagles this year. He claims that they can't strike the Eagle proofs because they need to meet demand for Eagle bullion coins first.
I will probably purchase one, I picked up one of the five ounce Libertads recently, I would imagine that they would have a 2 or 3 dollar per ounce premium such as the ase's, so at todays prices I would look for one for about 100$,
I think Moy said, in that same Coin World article, that the bullion' price would be structured similar to the proof gold bullion coins. Not sure of the reasoning there, since he'd like to strike proofs and satins too. Maybe he was referring to the later coins or maybe he's going to gouge us even more.
I am certain that they will be charging $100-$159!!! The US Mint is the biggest money making outfit in the world!! Yes, I would buy the first issued but that's as far as I will go with modern coins!! just my 2 cnts!!
Absolutely not... When the 2010 designs came out I really like them in the silver proofs but I was not impressed at all with the 5oz bullion. I think it has to do with the size or just the way the mint is producing these. My favorite it the Hot Springs theme but at this size it loses something..RB
The premium of $9.75 on these is actually not too bad, as long as you buy direct from the mint. They are selling for way too much from some price gougers on ebay, but people are paying it.
I did buy the set and had them in hand before Christmas because I was willing to pay $1395. I would not be willing to pay what's currently being asked in the secondary market, and have only barely resisted the temptation to sell mine at those prices. $2000+ would buy me a very nice AU $3 gold. My guess is already on record for the long-term price, but I don't see silver prices dropping back to $18/oz anytime soon, nor do I see these 2010 hockey pucks trading at anything near bullion prices. Ever. Instead, they will trade as numismatic scarcities.
The problem is you can't buy them direct form the mint. And when they start selling the "collectors" version direct from the mint later this year you can bet the premium will be a lot higher than $9.95
I love the coins but they aren't going to be worth the current prices in a couple of years. Fool me once with the $300 1999 silver proof sets but don't fool me again.
