Nice! You were the discoverer of that coin?!?! Wow! (I know that this is not the 1983 DDR. Still really cool though!)

    Richard,

I spent several minutes looking at that display. It was very cool. Good job!

It is very professional looking, although I'm not digging the gold.
Did you make the exhibit yourself, and what are the qualifications or the checklist that the judges go through, to only give you 2nd place? Which exhibit won first?

The gold case belongs to the ANA. The reason I was given second instead of first is that the judges felt that the case was crowded and that I didn't give enough detailed description of the coin. All in all I am happy with second place for my first attempt at exhibiting at a national show.

Can't say that I agree with crowded. It looks very nice, and no, 2nd ain't that bad.
You'll get em' next time. :)

Congratulations! I'd read it and the accompanying posts, but it is too wide and requires scrolling back and forth. I'm getting dizzy!

Congrats on your display and prize. It looks well set up to me, easy to follow. It is a lot of work to set these up, I know having just done one a few months back.

    Nice Exhibit !!!!!!!

I also spent several minutes looking at the display. It was darn good and the error subject is of interest to me.

I'm sorry I didn't meet with everyone while in Boston. I had a green sticker on my badge which said "Do You CoinTalk" and only 900fine noticed it & introduced himself.

I look forward to seeing your certificate & silver medal.

the coin was found in 2007 from a box of rolls bought at the local bank. Since then only 2 others have been reported.
