Found these in my change machines at one of my laundries this weekend. Obviously none of them are in very good shape but I was pretty excited to pick these first two needles out of a haystack! FW 295 error Web note 2001 $10 Star note
Wow, those are some great finds. That 1988a is a web press note, quite a nice find. In uncirculated it's worth $40, so I would think that note even in that condition may have a premium. The 2001 $10 Chicago star is from a run of 640,000 and in uncirculated is worth around $75, so it probably has some premium in that condition as well. Very cool finds, with those two definate keepers in my book.
now gotta go check all my money especially since i recently found a 2006 star note, hoping to get a 100 star or 20 tho
Aweosme finds! Those are the type of things to keep your eye out for and i love the days when something like that finds its way into my hands. Congrats!
i had no clue about either of those errors. i got a bunch of 1988 $1 notes, because its my birth year, so i pull everyone i get. time to get checking!
Yes. I operate two very large and busy laundromats. I get to look at alot of paper money on a daily basis. Just happened to hit a jackpot this weekend. :thumb:
Nice finds! I've been looking for Web Press Notes in my wallet for quite a while and I still haven't found one. Congrats again!
Anyone else ever daydream about owning an establishment such as this, or working part-time at a bank just so that they can go through all of the notes that come through every day? My wife thinks I'm crazy for wanting to do that. I think that laundromat job sounds amazing before maintenence costs are involved!
I've certainly daydreamed of being a teller in a bank just for the access to the cash coming through the branch, but I have an aversion to bank robbers. Being in NYC, you hear reports of banks that get hit all the time, which is why every bank has a thick wall of bullet proof glass between tellers and customers. I'm even cautious just going in to a bank as a customer, not wanting to be in the middle of a scene like that. And, no, I don't watch too many movies. There are that many problems in everyday banks in crowded metropolitan areas.
Glad to hear I'm not the only one who has daydreamed about that. We have some robberies here in Harrisburg, PA area, but nothing like that. I have banks where you and the teller can slap each other in the face if you wanted due to no bulletproof glass or other obstacles. Still, I'm sure it's always a concern for them. I don't know though, I just might do it sometime soon, especially once the new $100s come out next Spring.
