Anyone have any experience with this eBay seller? I won the auction for a really low price and when I stated make sure they are really small dates, he refunded my money and became really nasty. His pictures aren't good enough to tell if they are small dates, but they don't appear to be. So, I figured, if I could get them at a good price, I'd try to pressure him into sending actual small dates.

After all the threads I have seen here, I would almost be willing to bethe is selling them as small dates out of total ignorance. That ia not to say the buyer does not get just as bad of the shaft.

Every thing he is selling right now says Rare Vintage or mint in the description not a lot of feedback almost like someone who sold for a time then got kicked off and came back with a different email and user ID. He has all the key works to get someone to look.

Yes, it could be he doesn't know the difference, but he's pulling the same thing another seller is pulling, which is when pressured about actually sending real small dates, he tries to back out of the transaction. Of course they could be small dates and he refuses to honor the low price.

Yes, the low feedback is questionable.

So, after he cancelled the transaction, I reported him to eBay and promised him I'd post his auction on the Web to see if anyone else has had a problem with him.

I won one other small date auction where the seller already sent me a large date. I'm giving him 5 days to send a real small date, but it doesn't look like he will. At this point he's only offering to refund, which could indicate he doesn't have any real small dates. Great scam, sell large dates as small dates to those who can't tell the difference, and refund to those who call the seller on it. I'll post his auction if he doesn't deliver.

Looks like he is indeed selling small dates but since the winning bid was too low for his liking, he used the fact you ask questions to get rid of you. This way he will list the item again and have another shot to sell it for higher price. IMHO.

Could be, but I think I'm seeing some large dates in his pics - but they really aren't good enough to tell.

With the number of serious collectors here that do not know the difference despite all the threads on the subject, I would expect them to be large dates especially with that description.

Yeah, never heard it called a "Tall 7". Like you said ealier, could be he doesn't know the difference, but the buyer that doesn't know gets hurt too.

I thought someone may have bumped into this seller - maybe he's been discussed on other sites. I figured the word was out on him/her because his auction went so low, You know, he may be the same seller that I'll probably post later, as both wound up calling me the same thing. Now mind you, I've been called a lot worse and I may be at times, but both sellers within two emails called me an arrogant jerk (exact words).

The other seller that I'll probably post soon, changed his story several times. First he said he couldn't tell the difference. Then he said his coins were all mixed up (whatever that means). When I told him he shouldn't be selling them if he can't tell the difference, he tried to get out of the transaction.

As best as I can tell from those pics they are all large dates. Just a phishing scam IMO. He's trying to get someone ignorant to buy them not knowing the difference and then likely giving him good feedback. The number of idiots bidding on ebay never astounds me. They buy fake coins, AT coins and all out over-priced garbage and then leave excellent feedback. This guy is just phishing for one of those buyers.

That's my take, but you never know - don't want to say for sure, not having actual evidence.

Figured I'd try to pressure him/her into sending small dates and if not received get rid of him/her.

You might be right about it, but "phishing" is a fraudulent process of attempting to acquire private information like usernames/passwords or credit card details by faking a known online web resource. In your case he really is just "fishing" for a sucker :)

Two for ten isn't bad. Fourth coin in both rows are small dates.
