I buy $50 bags of pennies from the bank to search with my daughter and throw hundreds of those back. All of them in MS condition.

Is that some sort of EBay bidding addiction at work?

wow maybe i should get some of my better ones slabbed and sell them on ebay before they realize how many of these things are minted!

 

sad,really sad. this is one way of robbing somebody w/o using a weapon by selling slabed modern day garbage coins.

 

even if it is an MS99...IMO still only worth 1 cent.

PCGS #416671 2010-D lincoln Cent MS66 Pop of 21-PCGS List Price $275.00. Who ever bought it
must be adding to their Registry set. Send out a lifeguard as they are really under water!

I have always felt that everyone is free to do with their money as they please. I am not overly critical of others when they spend obscene amounts of money on coins that don't appeal to me becuase I have spent obscene amounts of money on toned coins and have been ridiculed for years. There is nothing wrong with sharing opinions in a thread like this....just remember it's their money and there are probably coins you have purchased that others would consider equally crazy?

 

also take note... that there were multiple people bidding on that coin. There were at least 3 diffrent people that bid past the $200 range. PCGS isn't grading the new cents that high.

 

I don't get it myself!! I love the hunt!! Searching 100's to find maybe a handful sometimes none! Always upgrading! I have several rolls of the new Shield Pennies! Wonder if I have any that are MS66 or better!!!!!!Tip: Kennedy Halves- Went to the bank the other day an bought 13 rolls (OK everyone they had or would let me have)!The point is I stashed back 6.5 rolls of 40% silver and 12 90%! They're there...Happy hunting

 

These are gambling bids. Kinda like rolling the dice? The current populations for the 2010 Lincoln shows 5 in MS66 and 1,460 in MS65. If that 5 population sticks, the prices on the MS66's could go much higher. If the populations on the MS66 increase or if an MS67 gets graded, then the shooter simply craps out!

One rule in gambling is that you must never "bet" more than you are willing to lose and I think the bidder in the above auction can simply afford to make the gamble.

I part they leave in few yr is 10-40 x what will be worth next yr or 2
