Does anyone have diagnostics on the 2nd DDO 1984 double ear? I would like to ident mine but I can find no pictures. I see it in my Strike it Rich book but not in my internet searching. Please help
There are several 1984 DDO's, but none that I know of with a doubled ear other than the 1st. Got some photos?
There was one listed a couple of years ago in Coin World, it just looks like a second lobe, very close to the first. Not that popular, but listed.
Yes, I am certain that it exists, but to repeat I was wondering if anyone had a link to the die markers so I could confirm it. Thank you if this is possible
This is the only one that I've seen. It shows two die states. http://www.coppercoins.com/lincoln/dietype.php?date=1984&die_mint=p&die_type=do&page=0
Wexler lists a 2nd doubled ear as 1984P WDDO-008 - the ear is SW - there are heavy abrasion lines below the ear and under the chin. It is illustrated in The Authoritative Reference on Lincoln Cents Second Edition on page 244. No one has reported a second example as of yet...
Hello everyone one I'm a newbie here. I have a 1984 doubled ear cent but mine is not like the one I see pics of. Mine actually shows three die states.I wonder do i have a different variety? Leave me a mgs in my in box if this sounds interesting to you. THANK YOU!!
Post your pics here or better yet, start a new thread so everyone can see what you have. A forum is a place to share what you have and for people to give they're opinions on it. It's also a learning place for those who are novices. Pics would help a lot.:smile
Hi Jason! There have been a couple of threads here and on coin community that showed what looked like the WDDO-008, but the lower ear portion was only about a third of the length, probably a chip. Jim
