The larger one is an 1798 French dime (10 centimes) and the smaller an 1798 French nickel (5 centimes). Each might be worth a couple dollars.

edit - sorry forgot the mints for you - the dime Paris, the nickel Rouen.

The left coin is France, 10 centimes, year 5 minted in Paris (mint mark A)
The right coin is France, 5 centimes, year 5 minted in Rouen (mint mark B)

The era on the coins is started after the French revolution (1789) in 1791. This means that both your coins are dated 1796.

You're right, they are 1796 - I miscounted. But you're wrong on the starting date of the LAN period. The LAN period started on Sept. 22, 1792 but it was not intorduced until Nov. 1793 so there was no year 1. So coins dated LAN 2 were made between Nov. 24, 1793 and Sept. 21, 1794.

As it works out a coin dated LAN 5 was minted between Sept. 22, 1796 and Sept. 21, 1797.
