Well after watching some of your recent success with Dimes I stopped tonight and got a box, my first box of Dimes. I had some nice finds:

    '52 Rosie
    '64 Rosie
    '41 Merc!!!!

And then 2 foreign 5 pence coins, not sure if these are Canadian or English???

I was really happy to see the Mercury Dime! Might do Dimes for a little while. If I can average aroung 3 per box like Ltrain it will be better than what I was doing with War Nickels close to 2/box.

Maybe I'll stop and get another box tomorrow. Going out to Metal Detect the Beaches all day tomorrow again. Will keep you all posted with my beach finds too.

Ltrain, how do you do average 3 silvers per box? Things HAVE been picking up for me, but I am nowhere NEAR 3 per box of dimes. Usually at my bank, I hit a skunk box every other box. Usually the other boxes produce 1-5 silvers. I guess it really has to do with your "area" but either way I am JEALOUS!!

Is this in the past year, or for the total amount of time you've been asking, like a few years now?

Nice work getting those at face by just asking...I might have to start doing that, it's worth a shot. Don't forget to check those Coinstar reject bins too when you pass by Log, I haven't found any silver yet, but I"m having fun finding coins here and there every now and then.

i got a few rolls of cents today. my girls mom came across them at her work today and thought they looked old so picked them up for me. the newest coins were 1974's so i am guessing someone spent some of a hoard.

anyway, it was pretty decent. i didn't find the '22 no D i need, but will never find one in a roll.

    the keeper wheats..
    1910-XF
1914-F possibly VF it looks like a weak strike
    1918-xf
    1918-D-F
    1919-G
    1920-VG
    1920-G possible clip?
1927-S VG very weak strike. i seem to grade weak strikes worse then they really are, so....

Sorry, I have nothing to say. I just noticed I had exactly 666 posts and I had to think fast and post something real quick.

That average is including the boxes I hit 12 and 7... so it's more like 2.5 a box or so... we'll see how long this holds out... gonna pick up several boxes from Wachovia while I'm down at the beach.

Finally. I just got back from vacation. I hit three small town banks. In all, I picked up 1k worth of halves. Some were CWR, some were BWR and some were loose. In total, I found 90 40% Kennedys. I had my best luck with the loose halves. I had $380 in loose and found 83 40% in there. The last $400 was BWR and I found only 4 40%.

Overall, I'm pretty pleased. I have not really found all the much since I started doing this.

The lady at the bank with the loose made a comment that "there are a lot of clad here" as she gave them to me. I think they looked thru them all, but didn't know that Kennedys from 1965 to 1970 are 40% silver.

Know I need to hit the dump bank.

Yeah, if a bank tells you that they can't get rolls of stuff, or boxes of stuff, they are LYING to you, and they are full of crap. they probably hoard all that stuff for theirselves and deny customers any access.Bank Teller Hoarders

so picked up a box of pennies this morning. have only gone through 5 rolls so far, and have found a 98 WAM, and...a 1955P-1DO-002 ! Ill put up pics later. My luck, rest of the rolls will be all junk and corroded. What a week this has been lol(got a 1909s-vdb in change; and kinda off topic, but got a framed signature card from a walmart box of baseball cards too)
