Then I guess you would be surprised to learn that the person who is considered to be the very best there is at grading coins is younger than you are.

I second this - bring in the YN's to the forum. It is fun seeing the excitement of some of them in this hobby. Like reading BQ's posts for collecting this week - you can feel how thrilled he is. Make the forum fun.

In this buisness you either have what it takes to be a grader or you don't. The guys that don't are usually the ones complaining about the grades they get back on a REGULAR basis. I personally know people who grade for both companies. One gentlemen who now grades for NGC was a good friend of mine and I watched him study non stop for over a year just to take his original entrance test before he even had a chance of being hired. It's not a joke. These people don't mess around.

I can't remember his name anymore, Chris (CaveTroll) knows his name I think. But he has been considered the best since he was 18. That's why I remember him.

I thought there was one that was like 16 and knew like every variety of large cent(or something like that) by memory? I remember reading an article about one that was amazing.

I believe I pass the minimum age requirement for a grader (Quiet Green18!) . Therefore I offer the CRAP grading service. Here is the slab I'll be using.

It seems that this and the associated contest thread are concerned with (1) In the case of this thread, the ability of an alleged 12 yo to grade coins commercially and own a TPG, and (2) In the contest thread , whether the said 12 yo is old enough to run a contest thread.

Basically ( outside of some rather unwholesome comments) it is an age related issue ( especially in considering a contest a contract ).

I think you need some more practice first. That is clearly an MS-69/70. Like the name tho.

I plan on offering a service where a customer will be able to custom order their favorite toning colors. Well, up to my 64 color Crayola box. What do ya think? LOL
