Green half cent! yay!

I'm pretty excited on this coin I just bought... I know it isn't worth what I paid for it because it is so banged up and eroded but I bought it because of it's beautiful green color all around it... I thought it looked magnificent. I love the bright green! I'm pretty excited. What do you guys think?

I wouldn't be surprised if it's been Photoshopped a bit.

 

juiced. seller used Photoshop to over saturate the color.

 

Juiced, but probably better in hand. Hopefully the surfaces are smooth when you get it. Otherwise, that's some rather attractive emerald-green patination.

 

I don't think so. I think the color is not the color it actually is, and I bet the surfaces will be quite rough.

 

I guess we'll see....

 

Hopefully you read the description more thoroughly then you did on that plated gold bar.

Absolutely, the color is not correct for verdigris.

I admit I don't know squat about these, but $30 for a badly corroded and damaged coin seems crazy in my eyes.

 

Holy cow! Just opened the link and looked at it. Way overpriced. Book is $50 for an 1828 13 star half-penny, minus 20% for more accurate value, but with that verdigris, I'd say maybe $10 tops.

 

I've got a 'green' statue he might like to buy, she's sitting out in the harbor here in NY. How much you got to blow OG?

Then just send the money it in a plain envelope to me anyway... you'd have to have a big crane to get that lady off the island and into your trunk.

Just attach pictures of the real coin. The pictures of the auction almost look like they put a green light on it. Will be interesting to compare the two sets of pictures.
