My closest TD bank calls me, and they're like "Oh, by the way, if you wanna keep ordering dimes, we're gonna have to charge you and ship them to your business... $106.xx dollars." I laughed and told them, nah!

Been a while since I have posted.....My report:

Two Fridays ago, I went to 8 banks looking for halves. Nothing for my first 7 (only found 5 halves), but in $14 at the 8th bank, one 40%er and one 1949 Frankie :D

Did a box the same day which was quite fun because I found some GREAT looking proofs and a few silver:
    2 2001S
    3 1998S
    3 2006S
    2 1997S
    plus
1 1986 Statue of Liberty Commem proof (3rd one I've found)
1 1989 Congressional Bicentennial proof (VERY cool looking coin!)
    plus
    1 1964 Kennedy
    2 40%ers.

From there my luck has been not so good with halves
5 boxes of halves: Silver Shutout, but one 1982 "No FG" and one 1977 proof
$350 of S&S wrapped halves from bank: Shutout
    $360 of CWR : Shutout :( (I was pumped when I found these.....nothing)
    Another 15 in loose halves: 4 40%ers

    Rough week.

I also did a bag of dimes:
    5 Silver Roosies (58, 60, 61, 62, 64)
    18 2009P
    4 2010P :) Fills a Dansco Hole!
    4 2010D :) Fills another Dansco Hole!

These were my FIRST non-cent 2010 coins that I've found in circulation.

OK, I'm back now......picked up another box of halves today....will search tonight.

    Nice finds bob!

Ltrain, how many boxes were you ordering a week for them to take it that far?

I ordered 4 boxes from that one bank, all at one time... guess they didn't like that, whatever... new dump bank!

I'm trying to understand new terminology... When you say "dump bank", does that mean you deposit the rolls into your account, dump it in a coin machine, or change the rolls to cash? Thank you:)

They have a machine, so that's where I "dump" my rejects. If nobody had machines, my "dump bank" would be where I deposited my rolls.

So I got my box of dimes today, and I need some advice...I am 99.9% sure that 90% of the box is full of 2010 P dimes, with a few older ones scattered in a few rolls. So far I opened maybe 4 rolls, 1 was all 2010 P and the rest had maybe $2.00 worth of older dates. What should I do with the rolls that I think are all 2010 P? Is there any kind of premium for them? Should I save one or two rolls? Should I just got deposit them at the bank? I'm kind of disappointed because I was looking forward to looking through them, but I feel like opening sealed rolls of 2010 P's would devalue them in a way?

On a better note, I found my first star $1 in a stack of 100. It is a 1995.

I would keep thedimes, and roll em up and put them away. If you had saved, for example, a roll of GEM BU UNC 1985 pennies, they would sell on ebay for $4 or $5. I have a whole box of mint rolled 2010 P pennies that I'm going to sock away for a few years. Even today these boxes are already selling for $50 on ebay (I've sold 3 boxes myself), so in 10 years who knows what they'll be selling for----

I can't really afford to save more than maybe 10 rolls, but should I open them all to make sure they are 2010's or just leave them?

It would be better to leave them machine rolled, but you have to make sure----

I'd sell them on Ebay Slamster.

Went through another box of halves last night.....6th shutout in a row :(

I've opened a lot of them, I'm debating buying wrappers and a crimper...its not like I'm touching them all, shiny edges get put in the box...safer to check then to sell them as 2010 P dimes only to have someone get a roll with mixed dates?

@theguy earlier, dump bank is a term referring to the bank you 'dump' all your common extras in. The hope is that that bank will sort of contain the coins you've searched through, but it should be noted that this only works to a limited effect. But it still helps.

Also what does "NIFC" in regards to half dollars mean?

I found $160 in Ike dollars today while searching. None of them are silver, but is there anything else I should be looking for with them before I sell them?

I believe the '72 or something has a type 3 that's worth good money? Can't remember the specifics, some searching on the forums should find you the answer, or even google.

2 boxes of dimes, 5 silver roosies, 1 merc.

The other thing you could do is put them in a coin tube and label it. Then sell it by "roll" on ebay. I did this recently with some 2009 P circulated dimes and was pleased with the results.
