I haven't collected bills so far, until today. This one called out to me, I had to start somewhere. I figure I can start a type collection without spending much money if I can find really rough bills like this. In this condition it just makes them feel older.
Thats a great Confederate note! I've been meaning to get a few but just haven't been able to find any for a reasonable price. Guy~
Not new at all, but these Series B1 - 1 Peso Mexican bank notes from Banco de México (ABNCo.) with consecutive SNs have been in SDB storage for years. I've just scanned them for the first time this week. :smile
Thanks, I asked about it but figured it would be much more expensive since it was so old and was a $50 bill. Only cost me $15 to start the collection. Here are a couple more I picked up today, not as cheap though... If anyone has one where you can read the green stamp I would love to see it.
A couple recent pick ups for me... West African States (Senegal) Serbia Another West African States (Senegal)
my newest note would be this http://i786.photobucket.com/albums/yy144/cman61085/Bills/18991DollarssilverCert2.jpg And quick question. How do you guys get the images to show up in the post without a link or an attachment?
cman: use the IMG link code from Photobucket in the share image options... or just place around an image url. Also, your note is a bit cropped, try to get in all the margins!
Thank you krispy. And my scanner was acting up when i tried to scan that bill. Took me 2 hours just to get that...:headbang: Im going to try putting a piece of black paper on my scanner lid to c if that works.
Yes, something to contrast with the white margin edge, like black paper should work. You can also edit in Photobucket and crop the shape of the file if you get too much of the background paper from scanning or don't have your own graphics editing software to do so on your own.
photobucket does have all the basic stuff you will need, and works pretty good. if you decide to go the software route, try photoscape. i got both photoscape and photoshop, tried scape first and never even needed to use shop(waste of money at this point). photoscape is real easy to use and has a ton of cool features that look great with currency/coins, plus photoscape is free! i sound like i work for photoscape!
Picked up these two bills today at the bank, she said I probably wouldn't want them since someone put a stamp on them.
these are not new, but the newest i have. i also don't think i ever posted any of these here. i just wanted to get some decent shots of some of my notes. now this is my first attempt at getting good shots of paper. other then the cropping being off because i didn't have the notes lined up right, how did i do? all of them are worth pretty much nothing, but i still like them. also, can anyone date the Saudi note? and also the Italian notes have two dates on them?
There is no deal between PMG and BEP on these. The seller of these has cut them from souvenir cards and sent them to PMG to put them in plastic. He then lists them on Ebay as specimens. Unfortunately for the buyers, they are paying more than if they bought the souvenir card.
