ive been hearing of some good hauls from flea markets/yard sales so i figured maybee i outta go and take a look, i need the exercise anyways.
A tip.... If the seller has a box of coins priced at so much per coin, ask what they would take for the whole box. A lot of times, I've bought bulk items for far less than the asking price because they were happy to get rid of it.
Same for coin shows, particullary with cheaper items. At shows I'll see a binder of 2x2ed lincolns and jeffersons and offer to buy them by the page, I often get 60% off that way.
nothing to report about, i have a feeling these people either sell the stuff off themselves because their so destitute or its been picked over. the only thing i saw were a few eisenhower dollars and some kind of hispanic peso's, at least i got some exercise in. maybee hitting garage sales would yield better results.
I don't know what kind of finds people have been getting of U.S. Silver, but my best luck at garage sales and flea markets are foreign coins because people don't realize or know what coins have silver in them. It would be good to take some time to look some of these up as those peso's you passed up may have been the silver find you were looking for.
yeah 1 guy had 2 pages of 50 peso coins, they were the size of silver dollars. i picked them up but had know idea of their content. most all the other peso's i saw were bronze in color.
i dont think thats it, i looked at it and it kinda looked like it had some arabian like symbols/writing on it.
