I went through 4 1/2 before I found anything. Hopefully that means I will have a string of good boxes now

Yes, hopefully so. I went through 3 in a row---it is very discouraging. But, as you know from my previous posts, the next box had 43 silvers in it. Let's hope your next one is a really good one---I'm pullin' fer ya!

They didn't get their order, so I went to one I haven't gone to yet and got 2 boxes of dimes. The first yielded 3 and the second, 0. One of those three is a really, really nice '55 S that looks like it might have FB, gotta look at it under the loupe.

EDIT: Not FB. Definitely AU though.

I know how you feel. I had a bad streak today. My first box had 1 1964 and 3 40%, one of them my son found. The next five boxes had nothing. I am getting more on Thursday. Hopefully I'll have a better luck. I think I am frustrated mostly because I am shooting for a full bag of 40% (2000 coins). I have 1720. Unless I get a huge stroke of luck again it will probably take me another two months to get to that goal.

At least you have $3k to leave around in half dollars at any given time as well as a bank that will order it for you. You're far more fortunate than many in just those two ways as far as roll searching goes. ;)

Thanks for the vote of confidence guys. I am going to cash in my halves tomorrow and order 6 boxes for next week so I will be busy next week. I have two to pick up tomorrow so we will see how they are.

I don't think your allowed to be frustrated for at least 2 years after the find you had a few months back. Your still pulling coins out of boxes which is more than many have been able to do. If I do 6 boxes a week, I'm lucky to come anywhere close to averaging 1 coin per box.

Also, didn't your huge find come from a bag of 1000? I guess I could look back to see but I'm curious why you've moved to boxes if it did come from a bag. If not, I guess I'm just not remembering correctly.

Good luck with the others this week

Had my first hard time trying to dump halves today at a bank that I have an account at. The head teller lady, supervisor, whatever she is said that she can't take them, because she has to hold onto them until she has at least $1K. She told me to take them back to where I bought them. Good thing there is another Wachovia in my area that is nicer, and willing to order halves for me. The other is inconvenient to park at anyway. I should have said I'd like to deposit them instead.

    100 CWR - Nothing
    37.50 loose at another bank - 6 x '64 and 3 x 40%

At the bank with the loose coins, the lady was counting them out of the bag and pointed out the silver ones. She said everything under 1967 is 40% and then went on to tell me that her husband collects coins. If my wife was a bank teller, I'd make sure she wasn't knowingly selling the silver coins to customers....but I'm happy she did. This is the second time in the last few weeks that tellers have told me that some of the coins were silver and then proceeded to sell them to me.

Should have 4 boxes arriving tomorrow

Got 2 boxes of pennies... About $10 left.

Less copper than normal, and about 15 wheaties so far... crappy boxes, overall... oldest wheat so far has been a '45.

    Screw Delaware, lol.

Not doing as well as you though down there Ltrain?

Nice find Yacorie, I went in to the bank where I ordered halves and the teller who started recognize me as a collector told me he found 8 Franklins, I didn't ask if he was saving them and he didn't offer to sell them to me so I'm not sure, but I will ask more when I go in tomorrow to get the box!

Box of halves, one 40% (1965) and 6 for my collection.

Question-should 1971 halves feel any different from the coins that came later 1972 on?

I'm not at the beach yet. They're refusing to order any change for me down there because I wont put more than $100 into my account... *******s. I hate BAC so much!

I hit up a few TD's in North Wilmington... I live about a mile away from the state line.

Nice, that's pretty dumb though, is $100 the account min or are they just being picky?

Cam, what do you mean by "feel different"? There shouldn't be much of a difference between 1971-2000 halves unless they have a S mint mark or some type of error...to the best of my knowledge...

The BAC up here ordered $1k with me having a grand total of $8 in my account. I called customer service and the actual policy is you need to have the amount of cash in your account that you want to have made into change. I told them I'm closing my account because they suck compared to other banks across the country.

Hey, they only thing that kept me from closing my Wachovia account on the spot today was the fact that they are the only bank within walking distance when I am at school, and I want those boxes of halves that the friendlier branch is ordering for me! So I know how you feel.

If they won't let you order halves, order dimes. By the thousand. Twice a week. Make them PAY for the honor of having you as their customer.

My buddy was told by his bank in Florida that they were going to charge him 3% of the total when he turned in half dollars because they hand count them. All other coinage they put in their machine.

I told him he should buy a few k worth of pennies and bring them in for a deposit.

Meh, I'll just go to the other Wachovia where the parking is free, it's only like a 1 minute difference haha. Dimes are tempting though, I was going to get singles and $2 bills today when I cashed in too, oh well.
