Went through 8 boxes of halves. I came up with: 12 40% and 2 90% one of which was a 1963-D Franklin. Not the best results, but I'm not complaining.

Ltrain, didn't you just tell me how much more worth it it is to do halves too? Look at you. Just kidding, I did better with my first box of dimes than with my first box of halves too.

I've tapped out the halves around here, I guess? I dunno. My girlfriends gonna bring back at least 1 box of halves from NH for me when she wraps up her graduate work there in a week or so.

    Update for this weeks halves.

I ended up with 6 boxes instead of 5---the bank asked me if I wanted an extra box that they had, so I took it.

    Box 1:

    1- 40%
    5- NIFC

    Box 2:

    3- 40%
    3- NIFC

    Box 3:

    2- 40%
    3- NIFC

    Box 4:

    5- 40%
    1- NIFC
2 - Walking Liberties---my first Walkers found in box searching. A 1945-S and a 1944---pretty worn, but both at least G-4.

    Box 5:

I have only opened one roll, and it had a 40%. Maybe a good one? (Fingers crossed!!)

Congrats on the walkers. If I ever win the lottery, I'm gonna buy like, $1000 in junk silver and seed it into circulation.

Why would you seed it into circulation? Just to be a nice guy, or so you could find it later!! haha

A little of both... to try and get some kids out there sparked onto coin collecting, for the thrill of the hunt, etc.

I'd probably put together a set of Proof Morgan dollars too. :D

I want to find some walkers, and a frankie that has NOT been through the garbage disposal like my first. Hey, at least I found a frankie, don't know it's MM or it's date, but oh well.

I'm getting a box of halves thurs, and I think I'm going to do a box or two of dimes before that!!

I went through 11 rolls of wheat cents last night and got 1 teen, 19 '20's, 39 '30's & the rest '40's & '50's. Nothing spectacular and I wasn't expecting anything rare. But I got to fill a lot of holes in my folder:)

Actually I kind of like the idea of going around and spending a large number of old but utter junk coins. I just don't have the money to do it.

I'll do this one more time. This is from a roll of US quarters from Wachovia recently. These are circulating coins; most will be spent by me shortly:

    2 1965
    1 1972
    1 1972D
    1 1977
    1 1981D
    1 1983P
    2 1984P
    1 1988D
    1 1988P
    3 1993P
    1 1996D
    1 1996P
    2 1999P Delaware
    1 1999P Georgia
    1 2000D South Carolina
    1 2000P Massachusetts
    3 2000P New Hampshire
    1 2000P South Carolina
    1 2001D Kentucky
    1 2001P North Carolina
    1 2002P Tennessee
    1 2004P Florida
    2 2004P Texas
    1 2005P California
    1 2007P Washington
    2 2007P Wyoming
    1 2008P Hawaii
    2 2008P New Mexico
    1 2009P Virgin Islands
    1 Canada 1969

    The breakdown by mint is:

    31 Philadelphia
    6 Denver
    2 Unknown (1965)
    1 Ottawa

Canadian coins do show up in these rolls but finding the 1969 25 cent coin was nice. The obverse is kind of scratched up but hey it's over 40 years old.

In the past 3 weeks I've gotten 3 wheat pennies in change. Not keys or anything, but just thought it was a funny coincedence, since often I'll go months and months and not find a wheatie.

Weigh it. Or if you don't have a scale, tape a pencil across the center of a ruler. Put another clad half on the other side and see if it tips. The Silver is heavier. Then reverse the coins and see if it still tips to the heavier coin. If so, then it's likely Silver.

2 more boxes of dimes, only 2 silvers. Think I cleaned out the dump of silver dimes.
