Zohar - I really like the 1900 Basel (Beider), a beautiful timeless design by Hans Frei. Now that you are into the 20th Century Schutzenfest medals please don't outbid me on the Holy Freres medals. Or we will duel.
These are the certified piece - http://coins.www.collectors-society...ollection.aspx?UserCollectionID=3204&Tab=list I add them as they get graded.
more medals... I am in the zone with these. Just received this lot today for my theme set. 1891 Bern Cantonal Shooting Festival at Burgdorf 1900 Bern Cantonal Shooting Festival at St. Imier 1890 Solothurn Cantonal Schützenfest 1895 Zurich Federal Festival Winterthur
Those darn Swiss and their cantons. "Schützenfest beider Basel" translates to "Shooting Festival of both Basels". The Basel area consists of two cantons, Basel-Stadt (the city of Basel and a few suburbs) and Basel-Landschaft (several cities/towns south of Basel). So that would have been a festival of the two cantons. Christian
I would actually prefer to let the best man win. Far more sporting. And Zohar, your 1905 Nidwalden is really growing on me. PS - Ping? Did you mean PM? Ping is a computer network term, used to determine if an internet connected device is communicating properly. Do you work on computer networks too?
Used to be in tech. Seriously, I would not want to hurt a fellow collector. if you like a certain piece i will back off.
