Sorry, i have no scanner or camera yet to upload a pic all i know is this is 1 odd dime...it almost looks fake? It has smooth non reeded edges and roosevelts face looks odd the reverse looks odd too...almost looks blown up a bit? Id almost say its a fake...but could be very real who would doctor a 2000 d dime? Its definitley not in ms condition,...id give it a middle au has anyone heard of smooth edged dimes before? Should i get this baby graded? Even in au shape? Any insight will be appreciated!
Im working on getting a scanner im bringing it to the coin convention and ill show it around i like your qoutes
Will a scanner be sufficient to show the edge of the dime? I've always used a camera, so I don't know. Chris
Im really not good at photography, so I think Ill opt for the scanner for a while Im lazy like that if i was to scan it...youd see the odd obverse..and the blown up reverse Theres not much i can do but describe it until I purchase a scanner Just wanted to know if this dime was common? totally smooth edge..too smooth and a face that doesnt really look like roosevelt?? It very well could be real.
Remember that the reeding on all copper nickel clad coins wears away well before the clad surfaces primarily because the reeding has a lot of 100% copper showing in it.
In response to above post, i have the same 2000 D Dime with no reeds, no designer initials and a very odd Roosevelt face. I have attached images and any comments are appreciated.
