Very cool finds. I'm considering a metal detector myself. I hear they are a lot of fun. Also, a very nice Silver Eagle, very nice.

Yea metal detecting is very fun especially if you live in an old town, my next step is to get an underwater detector and get diving lessons. 1 lake close to where i live has an old town at the bottom of it and the lake isnt that deep.

I didn't read it, but I just saw a news brief about an 18th century ship found 30' under the WTC site...

Very cool finds! When I get a chance to go digging in the dirt I'm never that successful, my best find was a horse shoe and an old toothpaste tube.

You would need to spend $129-$150 at a minimum. Otherwise you will spend more time trying to adjust and read the unit than time using it.

Where do you search, just around some fields or something? I live near a beach so that might be a good start, but people are always metal detecting there

Yea beaches are good. And parks are also good, depending on where you live if the park is old there are old coins there. Other good places are old houses that are vacant and demos of old buildings, and empty lots.
