All of the cards are stunning,I like eagles F1985D,so that's my favorite but the Panama Girl is just as nice & the vignette is also stunning in color,I had to deceide how to display them and I bought the White Ace albums, the card are mounted in clear plastic sleeves so their protected when you want to show them they are protected.

eBay or if none currently listed, you could set up an automated search for them when they get listed.

The stamp sheets turn up like this a lot.

A Google search will turn up some dealers too.

You might also contact Robert Bailey about them.

I know Ken Barr sells albums & the pages are additional, make sure to order the clear plastic sleeves ,the sleeves are peel & stick & come in different sizes,I added these triangle corner holder for the bottom of the cards so when you turn the large pages the card is secure and stable on the bottom corners.
I don't have his email but google it ,I order all of my Albums & supplies from a local coin & stamp Shop ,you may just find it easier that way.
Only way to go & display them.

One of the cards I want to buy is ken barr b-41 ANA 1977 face 1899 $5 Onepapa SC, http://www.kenbarr.com/BEP/b41.jpg . It's available canceled or uncanceled. I have two canceled cards from the Baltimore 1985 show.
(see one of my earlier posts) Both of these cards are canceled on the back with some bleed through to the front. Is there any real advantage to buying canceled cards? also, all of the cancelled cards i see advertised are cancelled on the front not the back of the card.

I prefer cards that are not canceled on front or back, but have bought front canceled cards when I bought on ebay because they were much less expensive ,but that's not the norm ,some collector ,if they attended the show want them canceled & will pay a premium or if the stamp is related to the souvenir card.Personal choice but I like them uncanceled & clean (mint).

Midas, I think it comes down to personal preference or like Connor says, if a collector attended a show. I have mostly uncancelled cards but when I bought canceled cards I was careful to choose a card that was stamped in a way that wasn't too distracting to the design. Sometimes the stamps and cancel marks look a bit unattractive or are placed over a part of the design that obscures. I wouldn't want to buy a canceled card 'sight-unseen' because I wouldn't know how obtrusive the stamp might be. I see nothing wrong with have canceled cards in your collection but I also cannot really speak to the value of them verses un-canceled cards. I would also add, that if you are thinking to frame a card, you may wish to choose a clean un-canceled card for an elegant display. I don't see a right or a wrong in the two. Just my thoughts on this.

The reason I brought up the cancelled/non cancelled question is Ken Barr charges more for the same card except it's cancelled. Personally I like them non cancelled so after your responses I won't buy cancelled cards unless I'm at a show.

Talking about cancelled cards. a couple of weeks ago, at the local Bass Pro shop, the Dept of Wildlife was selling the latest Duck Stamp so of course I queued up to buy some. First thing I notice is they were being cancelled using a self inking stamper which may take a day to dry. Meanwhile they're stamping them then placing them in transparent envelopes so the ink immediately bleeds through. I only bought one card with cancelled two different stamps and didn't get it placed in an envelope and didn't get it signed by the artists and Dept of Wildlife big guns because, I assume, there was a good chance of smearing the ink. Why in the world would they use a self inking stamp is beyond me.

Last I checked, Bob's wife was having health issues and he was taking some time away from dealing. So if anyone tries to contact him without a response, that's likely the reason.

Regarding cancelled vs. uncancelled cards, I only cancel them if I attend the show. But you'll notice most are formatted with blank areas intentionally so there's room for a show cancel. The ones I recommend you shy away from are those with BEP Visitor Center cancels. The cancel doesn't commemorate anything in particular -- and it may actually give the card a lower value than the cost of an uncancelled one.

I only have a few cancelled cards. I try to get ones that are consistent with the theme of the card. The 1972 INTERPEX card below is cancelled with an original of the imprinted stamp as well as other stamps with the space exploration theme.

I have been keeping an eye out for some of the Graf Zepplin cards that have original Zepplin stamps on them with cancellations. There are very few of these around from what I understand.

The Zepps are wonderful cards and you can find them for $2-3 each. The 1971 ASDA card was the very first one I ever bought, back in high school. I was amazed that I could afford intaglio reprints nearly identical to the original stamps, which catalog in the thousands. Viewed closely the engraving on these is every bit as nice as banknote vignettes.

You're right about cancellations on these. Show cancelling souvenir cards during the early years, 1969-71, hadn't caught on yet and not many were made. A cancelled ASDA '71 would run you $100+.

The Graf Zeppelin cards are very nice ,I use to collect stamps before coins in the 60s still have the album somewhere in a closet & remember some Graf Zeppelin stamps in it unfortunately I hinged the stamps in the book but everyone I knew was doing that back then, now I know better.I got to look for that book someday.
Very detailed engraving on such a small stamp. .....really like them .

Are you saying I should not have hinged my stamps???

Yes, unhinged stamps are preferred & command a premium ,especially on un-canceled stamps.I've haven't collected in years but the stamp & coin stores will pay more when you sell if they were never hinged.

Jhinton: Mint, never-hinged stamps (MNH) can carry a premium, so generally avoid hinging those with pristine gum on the back. But no worries with used (cancelled) stamps or even previously hinged mint ones.

FYI, did you know CoinTalk has a Philately Club?
