How to get residue off slabs

    I had mcdonalds today before i went to the coin show lol :) I wore a dress shirt but got ketchup from my bacon egg and cheese bagle + hashbrown on my dresshirt.

    stop with the dress shirts at coin shows........be young and youthful, we have to break these guys into the idea that younger guys are collecting.......part of me is actaully started to think when the 40 somethings die there will be nobody left to buy my coins

    well that explains it then... thanks for solving the mystery Hunt1. I'm off this thread and you are know well versed in cleaning slabs, the composition of silver in Morgan dollars, and all other manner of late night antics. Have a nice breakfast.

    Wrong.
    Gold CAN tone.
    The question was vague.
    It can be natural or artificial but gold CAN tone.

    then why in the world does my favorite dealer have a harshly cleaned 10 dollar gold piece

    Red spots often form on gold. There are lots of factors to describe the gold tone issue... and there are threads on it that can be found in the Search. Have a look at them.

    circulated gold picks up dirt, some people tried to polish or clean, even scratch dirt off old coins. lots of reasons. depends on the code given by the TPG if it was slabbed. If not, ask the dealer what they know about it.

    he knows it was harshly cleaned it on sale lol I want a no motto bad since i feel there should be nothing about god on our money but i cant bring myself to pay that for it
