This has been interesting. I guess I just assumed ANA membership was "pricey". But as bqcoins pointed out, for $28/year you have DIGITAL access to their monthly journal (so nothing in the mail) and you get EVERYTHING else. The "other" membership" sends the monthly magazine for you and it costs $46. You gain absolutely NOTHING by paying the extra $18 except you get the monthly copy in your mailbox. Considering ALL the benefits I'm seeing (access to library, Insurance, etc.) that you get with the cheaper price, it seems the ANA may want to look at that $46 price. Coin Collecting may be the Hobby of Kings. But gosh, wouldn't it be nice if people other than Kings could access accurate, pertinent and meaningful data about their hobby?

I had a talk with them and they told me that a person did not have to pay back dues to get the old number back. That was stopped a few years back they told me.
I wonder when one of these clubs with publications will make electronic access to old issues (archives) part of the perks? That is what it would take for me to join. Only providing current issues only works if you are interested in their current interests.
I just want to second the motion. Hobo, Krispy, Jim, Duke and Bart are right. It is probably the best value in collecting. It has paid for itself many times over and will continue to do so!
