This is a little insane!! I BELIEVE THAT THE PROBLEM YOU'VE REALIZED IS ONE WHICH MANY ARE REALIZING, MYSELF INCLUDED, BUT CAN'T ACCESS THE SITE TO INFORM "ADMINISTRATION". I'VE MADE MANY ATTEMPTS TO ACCESS THE SITE, RECEIVING VARIOUS ACCESS DENIAL MESSAGES, AND IT APPEARS A FLUKE THAT I WAS ABLE TO ACCESS THIS THREAD. SINCE I'VE VIRTUALLY ALWAYS HAD PROBLEM ACCESSING COIN TALK, AND WHEN I DID, I COULDN'T BOOKMARK MY ACCESS MEANS BECAUSE THE SITE WOULD NOT ALLOW ACCESS UPON USING THE BOOKMARK. I EVENTUALLY GENERATED AN AD, BUT THE SITE WOULD NOT ALLOW ME TO PLACE SAME IN THE APPROPRIATE SECTION, WHICH WAS EVENTUALLY FACILITATED BY DOUG. THAT AD WAS BOOKMARKED, AND ALLOWED ACCESS UNTIL THIS EVENING, WHEN I WAS INFORMED THAT IT WASN'T ANY LONGER VALID. IF THESE "CHANGES" ARE INTENDED TO FACILITATE ACCESS DENIAL, OR REDUCE USAGE, THEY HAVE DEFINITELY WORKED FOR THIS "SUPPORTER" WHO NO LONGER HAS ACCESS TO NOTIFY "ADMINISTRATION" THAT WE HAVE "A FAILURE TO COMMUNICATE". IT'S BEEN FUN!! :rolling:
Well, the home page isn't built yet. There's a message saying you can't see what there because there's nothing there. It's a quirk of the new system that will be sorted out soon enough. Just try to stay in the forum for now, the forum should be working fine.
Good Lordy, thanks for changing the color of that navigation (?) bar at the top Peter. I can put the glasses away now.... Oh, and the spell check is back! Praise Jesus.....
I have no idea what "Welcome!! Started by Peter T Davis, Today 09:36 PM". However, since I get "Sorry, you do not have permission to access this page." when I access it, I have a funny feeling I am not supposed to be seeing it.
Peter: Does the new version of the site enable the page to load to the last post you read on your previous visit to a thread? CT always had this and I loved it! The page would load from a subscription link or a new post, and if I'd already read the page, would jump right to that page. Please say it does.
I knew something was different as I click on posts. This is precisely it... thanks for articulating it Each time I open up a post, it defaults to the top of the post, regardless of how far down the page the threads go. Also, after posting a thread, it defaults back up to the top of the page, again, regardless of how far down the page the threads go...
I give. Peter, how do you post a picture in a post like I used to (in stead of a link)? If it is there, I cannot find it
Insert an image using the icon right above the post box or select 'go advanced' and use 'manage attachments'. or just post the image URL between [bracket IMG bracket] image url here [/ bracket IMG bracket ] in the body of the post. All the same tools for uploading images are exactly the same.
Try this... It seems to have worked for me... 1. Open into existing thread or click on New Thread. 2. Then follow the following buttons/window buttons: 3. Click on Paperclip 4. Click on +Add Files 5. Click on Select Files 6. Choose the files you want to upload via browsing your computer. 7. Click "Insert Inline" This will upload files. Once uploaded, select the files just uploaded for inclusion in the post. Here's a new post that I added using this procedure: http://www.cointalk.com/t116880/#post938090
Unless you can show me something else, all I get following those exact steps (also for manage attachments) is a nice link in the post. What I have figured out is that if I select a picture from my album, it will be displayed in the post, but not new pictures.
1. Co into existing thread or click on New Thread. That's ok if you want to upload from your computer. If you want to link from a filesharing site like photobucket or another website, see my posts above
