<-------- Also is freaquently blanked, but I found 2 40%ers today. In an effort to offset the opertunity cost of role searching i've decided that it is good for my cash flow because searching roles is a lot like sales you are disapointed thousand times and then the one hits you and fills you with happy adrenialin. Cold calling sux and so does getting blanked on multiple boxes in a row, but it only takes the one to get yeah back in.

Finished the 3rd box and it was another skunk. So the total for the week in boxes was 4 boxes = 3 skunks and 1 with 2 40%

    Great Box!

I bought a box of cents and 95% of them are LP1 in plastic wrappers.....I'll probably take most back to the bank, but I'll check e-bay first to see if there is a premium for it (most wrappers have one to two brown cents in them).

Box of halves today, GREAT box. I found over $100 worth of silver at todays (down 86 cents) prices. I found:

    • 4 nice NIFC halves from 02, 03 and 08.
    • One 1986 clad Statue of Liberty Commemorative (2nd one I've found in a box)
    • Two forgeign coins which was odd because they are much smaller in diameter than a half....a 2000 5 Cordobas coin from Nicaragua and a 1981 20 cent coin from Jamaica. Very interesting.
    • 7 40%ers, 65, 2 66, 3 67 and a 68
    • 15   1964 90% Kennedy half dollars with at least 5 of them AU58 or better. :D :) :D
Wow, 22 silvers and 15 (68%) of them of the 90% variety.

    That was FUN!!!

I thought I would post a really cool 1973-D TDO (tripled die obverse) that I found today in my 1st box of halves. It was the last coin in the last roll! It'll be on eBay Monday night. If no one shows much interest, I think I'll send it for grading-----It's at least MS+

When you get your box/roll of halves, quarters, dimes, nickels, cents, how do you sort through it? Arrange by date? Mintmark? Do you use separate containers for each year? I am still trying to figure out the best way to sort, so I figured I would ask.

And does it normally take banks up to a week to order a box of halves for you? I ordered a box today and it won't be in until next Thursday.

Ugh, I still haven't hit a good box. While I was on... ah, "vacation" from cointalk, I did 5 boxes and got 2 40%'s, total. Starting to get worn out on this... Gonna see if I can grab a box today.

I did a box of pennies yesterday (And yes, the box said pennies ;)) and pulled 13 wheaties, including a 1919. Also found a couple shields and 4 2009's.

    Question about half boxes

I went to the bank today and asked about a box of halves the teller had no idea what I was talking about. Can someone tell me price of a box of halves, and is there a special way to order them? Thanks in advance Kirk:confused:

A box of 50 rolls is $500. From my experiences, so far, it is very hard to get a box. I just finally ordered my first one after waiting the week to see if they could order them, and now I have to wait another week for them to get it. I've had better luck calling around to different banks asking for rolls, try that too?

Just ask to talk to the head teller or if they're not available, the current manager, and tell them you'd like to order some half dollars. They'll know how to take care of it. $500 per box, $1000 per bag, if you can get a bag.

Looked through 7 CWR halves this afternoon. Nothing. Once the teller at this small town bank gave me the rolls I knew I was in trouble. The ends of the rolls weren't tight. It was clear that they had been opened and closed more than once. Dammit.

10 rolls of pennies tonight. Nothing except copper. I'm guessing 30%

Found 6 more 2010 P and D halves in $100 worth today making my total so far like 16 including the set for myself, and the set in my album. I will probably have a roll of them soon assuming there are a bunch in the box I am getting on Thursday

pretty nice find goldmember. i would be extremely happy with it.

walker= favorite coin, rare to find in circulation, plus silver!
2004= nice to find a not intended for circulation coin
40%ers= silver is always nice to find!
1988s= proofs are tough to find in circulation, plus its my birth year

other then finding a box of all silvers, you got a perfect one, imo at least. would have been nice to find a franky or a '64, but very nice find!

plus dwight K shrute is the man!
