1962 D OBW...should I open it?

I don't know what to do with the rest of the coins, it is obvious I'm keeping that toner above, that thing is very nice looking.
Should I just put em' in a coin roll? Put them in some airtites? Put them back in circulation?

P.S. BadThad, awesome on that MS68, must be nice, kinda what I was hoping for

I would have opened it by now too searching for a RPM or a DDO variety. It only takes one Great Keeper in a roll of fifty coins to recover the investment.

 

Maybe you can save them for contest consolation prizes??? or include them with items you sell on ebay as a freebie to your buyers???

 

You know, I always do stuff like that, give away four or five coins to every purchase, don't know why I didn't think of that this time lol

I do the same when I sell things. No date buffalos are good for this too.

I saw the roll and it is a nice one with beautiful colors. I voted no though because you are young and can hold them for many more years to come in its OBW. I mean, I would keep them in the roll and surprise myself later on in time.

 

But I don't want to give myself a heart attack when I'm older do to the extreme toning.

(That won't happen, I'll always be HOT!) lol

I like the toner I pulled and might get a few bucks for it if I ever was desperate to get every last dollar in the PayPal account, and for the rest of the coin, I'll be giving them away in my auctions and maybe some other places as well

 

How do you get an OBW roll and what does OBW stand for?

 

Original Bank Wrapped

Meaning it is still in it's wrapping from the bank, years ago.
This one was from a bank in Oklahoma I believe, wrapped in 1962, and it stayed that way for nearly 50 years.
You can't get Original Bank Wrapped Rolls anywhere, rarely will they give you one in a bank (what I mean by that is an older roll) and you can get them on eBay.
OBW of Franklin Dollars can go $200++...and Morgan Dollar OBW...all I can say is WOW.

 

Oh man. Typically, these rolls are not near worth what they are going for right? People are paying for the dream of finding an MS-70 RD 1909 VDB S Lincoln cent? (Retail value of that penny: $1,000,000,000ish)

 

Typically rolls don't go for that much (1,000,000,000)
Morgan OBW Rolls can go for $800-$2000, being a general price. Many collectors do find nice coins, and when the rolls really do go for crazy prices is when there is a CC showing on both sides, or an 1893 showing on one side and a S mm on the other side or any other combo of key dates and mm like that.
The value is determined by what is inside so it can be a complete coin flip.

(Was joking about the billion dollar coin. But a 1909 RD VDB S Lincoln goes for $78k according to Numismedia. Can only imagine how much it would go for it if were MS70.)
