I have seen specimens of the Maria Theresia Poltura have an "S" mark to the lower left of the bust, and others without the "S" mark. Does anyone kindly know what the difference means? Thanks, - CheetahCats
Thanks for the link; I appreciate it. Unfortunately that site only discusses Thalers/Talers. This enquiry is pursuant to the Poltura... the 1763 is a copper issue.
S = mintmark Schmollnitz (Hungary, new Smolník, Slovakia) Out of S = mint Kremnitz (Hungary, new Kremnica, Slovakia)
Awesome! Thank you very much :thumb: Would you know if specimens with the "S" mintmark are rarer and/or price higher ?
