...just curious. when you send a few coins to be slabbed or send to

someone for selling or whatever, do you favor a small box or envelope?

i'm talking maybe 2 coins or so. and why do you prefer one over the

    other? thanks for your comments.

  3. A nice envelope packaged properly and safely so the coin has zero room for movement and damage. A bubble wrapped envelope with the coin in a plastic fold carrier wrapped in paper and/or cardboard and finally inserted into the bubble wrap envelope is my personal favorite.

    Hi, Russ!

How is the Gulf Coast treating you? It's not quite like Colorado, wouldn't you say? What is the latest with Heritage?

If you're just sending 2-3 coins, you can use Safety Mailers like the ones shown in the link below (scroll down a bit). They are made of corrugated cardboard and are self-sealing. Yes, it's possible to put these mailers into a regular, legal-size envelope, but you still have to have room for your paperwork which can be a tight squeeze. You really don't have to use the bubble envelope, but you can if you want the peace of mind for the added protection.

You should know by now that there's the right way, the wrong way and the Army way.

    Good luck!

If you send them to a TPG, use the USPS $4.95 ship anywhere box.

If you are sending them to someone you sold them too, use the padded envelopes, and wrap the coin(s) in small bubble wrap.

I have received coins in various ways. Some are in envelopes only but taped to the inside. Some are bubble wrapped. I've even gotten them wrapped in toilet paper. Most people are very careful with their wrapping and even go the extra mile (oversized shipping envelopes). Once I received an empty envelope with a small hole worn at the bottom. Post office machines I suppose. I'll bet others have some good stories about how they have received coins.

Since I don't send anything won from me on eBay without Delivery Confirmation I used a smallish box.
Delivery Confirmation requires the package be at least one-quarter inch thick.
A bubble wrap envelope with a couple styro peanuts thrown in works also.

Actually my "smallish box" is a variable thickness CD mailer.
That covers me for anything from a coin in a flip through slabs up to ASE boxes.
    Really quite versatile.
    Costs me 43¢ each.

...i guess my fixation with using a box is i feel the package is better able to

survive postal football games and other entertainment that some mail

employees engage in when handling the mail.
