i agree as well doesnt seem worth the money. it is mainly for new collectors who dont know what they are doing yet and they get them on the fact they think they could win big. I bought one to fill my album and that about it because there arn't any dealers in my area. The money definately inst worth it if all you are doing is hoping to strike gold
I don't mind buying lots to search for what I want, because what I don't use I can sell back for about a 10% loss. However, on this one, after seeing all of your posts, it appears I will be taking closer to a 55% loss. Lesson learned....I hope. :hatch:
at least it's only a $36. and you will at least get some things you could use for your collection. also i would love to find someone who would pay more then $5 for a silver washington! $11 and $20 are not realistic prices for non key date silver quarters.
I agree with you, but here is a 1946 MS66 BU (not professionally graded) that sold for $10.75. The intersting thing is thought, ALL of his coins are "graded" MS-66 BU or MS+++ (not professionally). http://cgi.ebay.com/1946-P-WASHINGT...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item19bd514795 Point being, you wanted to find someone, there they are! So Mr. Orange, you may want to ask him if he wants to buy your quarter! If he doesn't, it will be tough to get $11 out of it.
Don't fret too much about it. You're in good company. Hardly a week goes by that someone doesn't post here............. I just bought this! Did I get a good deal? What would it grade? What is it worth? ..........when all they had to do was ask someone here about it, first. Chris
I always think about buying one of these lots, but I just can't justify spending $30+ on a bunch of cents that I already have sitting in my room on the floor in a bag. Maybe I should start selling "unsearched" lots of wheaties....hmmm
I think that this person is better by reading the feedback. http://cgi.ebay.com/1000-Unsearched...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3a54fe0fcb
How would you get rolls of wheaties? nevermind.... http://cgi.ebay.com/1000-Unsearched...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3a54fe0fcb
So does this also double as the source of the free coins you like to give away over here: Free coin Give-away! :smile
I must have at least 300 wheaties lying around, all the ones I picked through that I have accumulated since I was a kid and my parents/their friends would save them for me. I could just roll them up until I'm out? I wouldn't sell them though I don't think. What about the shotgun rolls with IH, mercs, barbers, on the ends? Just as bad?
i would say so how many times have you rolled coins and put dimes on the ends? i think it is mainly a ploy to get people to buy them. They take their junk wheaties and roll them and but things that "could" be a key date at the end to get a premium for the rolls. Like a 1916-D(?) merc on the end. Lots of people fall for it too.
Something to look at: http://cgi.ebay.com/1000-Unsearched...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3a54fe0fcb Works out about $3.50/roll. They resell for about double that. So the math... $7/roll $3.50 profit minus 9% ebay fees $2.80 profit minus $1.10 (about) listing fee $1.70 profit minus .50 PayPal fee (about) $1.20 profit minus $4.95 flatrate small box usps shipping $3.75 loss x 20 rolls So if you buy these on ebay, and sell them for TWICE as much, you lose a grand total of $70. interesting....didnt expect the math to work out like that
Screaming you are young Jedi! ...and who are you to declare to us what is or isn't "Off topic"? You're too green to be green if you get what I mean. Besides, it's a legitimate question and this isn't a race for post counts as you too should learn.
Wasn't racing. Had just noticed it and was proud of myself so I decided to share. Sorry about yelling!
NP. Some folks get hung up on post counts ya' know... I do post a lot but I can't do anything with the post count to better anything so it's meaningless.
We will see... I know Im giving away more then one coin next week.. thinking about offering my toned wheat cent.. but we'll see.. also the odds of winning next week will be easier.. this week was 1 in 83... next week will be a bit easier.
