I am fair at attribution of Large Cent Varieties, but this is one that is giving me fits. I have a couple of ideas for the obverse, but the reverse doesn't matchup with those pairings. I haven't looked at it in a while so I'll be making a fresh attempt again. ps The green is a reflection in my axial lighting setup and not on the coin.
After stepping back, it seems fairly easy today. I'm not sure what the problem was. I'll see what you guys can come up with to see if we match.
213 - 214 - 215 - Date not compact. 216 - First one looks pointed, 100 in denominator not close 217 - Liberty not far to the right. 218 - Not 3 error reverse 219 - Not 3 error reverse 220 - Not 1/000. 221 - Not corrected fraction 222 - Not a 222 - denominator not 1 00. 223 - Not 223 leaves past D in united. 224 - Not 224 1 under bar and not 1 00. Okay narrowed it down to a 213 or 214. I think it might be a 214, but just a guess.
You have it. It's the S-214 with Obverse 2. The easiest way to tell then difference between 1 and 2 is to look at the second highest wave of hair. The S-213 is under the upright of E while on the S-214 it is left-center of E. Now the third obverse matched with Reverse A is Obverse 3 (S-215) which has a closer date than the S-214 and a high E. For some reason I had eliminated Obverse 2 and focused on Obverse 6 or 7 which did not have pairings which matched the Reverse.
