This listing made me laugh

    Maybe... if I remember correctly (from my collecting heyday back in the mid-fifties), the heavier coins had a real tendancy to fall out of the Whitman folders. Open up your folder and three or four silver dollars would hit the floor. Basically you had two or three choices... moisten the adhesive in the coin slot, use double-sided tape, or use some other type of glue/ahesive. I do remember seeing alot of coins back then with hardened glue/blue paper residue on the reverse.

    Indeed. That's precisely what I was thinking. I inherited a bunch of Whitmans that were filled during the 60's, and that's what had been done to keep the coins from falling out of the slots. Cellophane tape, duct tape, masking tape, Elmer's glue, tester's glue... you name it.

    For only $21.08 per coin you could've had a great collection of patience testing and mind-numbing relaxation for this lot...wow...did I miss something in this lot?

    Sold for $1070 or $21.40 per coin.
    Pretty good for the seller.
