wondering what i found looks like the reverse is stamped on the obverse and the obverse is stamped on the reverse, major die crack from bowtie to lincolns chests and there looks to be double die in iber in the word liberty.
Okay, I am surprised none of you error experts on commenting on this?.. I mean it looks to be a die clash for certain, but that is atleast 3 strikes on reverse and obverse... How would you get a double or triple clashed die like that without more damage to the primary devices?... Great find, in any case...
I wonder how easy it is to fake such a "die clash". Could some one grind off the edge of one cent, put it on top of another one cent, and strike it with a hammer? What will happen if one does this?
Would probably be noticeable, wouldn't do an image like this one, it would have to be a negative die to produce a positive image on the coin, plus it would expose new metal that would be obvious on an older coin that has oxidized.
