I'd say why didn't you wait to start this thread when you had the photos ready.

Hmmm, some people could make textile toned dollars by now :)

    pretty much.
    but this was unintentional.

I received $50 Sacagawea dollars as a gift, all uncirculated, given to me in a velvet (or something) bag. So I just kept them in the bag, and sure enough, when I looked at them a few months ago, some had some textile'ish toning on them. :)

It was given to me in the first quarter of 2001, so they've been sitting there a while.

That's neat. Once bought a bag of Susan B's, they just turned dull.

Now if you accidentally put some Morgans in it, they will be NT, but if you do it on purpose, it will be AT. At least according to some :D

Maybe it affects the Coin's Karma. Nice name for an AT~~ "KarmaKoin"

    Save the Bag. :smile

Would you prefer cotton or velvet?

    NotSure I'm sure I'm NotSure

It was my understanding that 'textile' was caused by storage in burlap/canvas bank bags (honestly, 'textile' is basically reserved for Morgans/Peace, so I never would have thought it possible for Sacs to develop this type of toning pattern), which was going to prompt me to question 'textile' toning in a velvet bag, when I saw the thread earlier. I opted to wait for images before doubting the possibility publicly. The example mrbrklyn provides certainly removes my doubts (not to mention makes me feel stupid considering my earlier assumption). I must add, I'm not a fan of Sacs, AT ALL, but I just LOVE the look of that, for some unknown reason! Thanks, mrbrklyn!!!

I was in the same boat with you NotSure, about canvas sacks, thanks for the picture Magman.

I very strongly suspect that Ruben's photo is PhotoShop textile toning.

    :)

OK all, I have the dollars, and have tried taking pictures. It was VERY difficult...
also, unfortunately about half have fingerprints. If only I had known back in 2001, lol.

I may send a few to Todd, so he can try to take some pics.

But here are some. I'll be back later with some more.
    They're all 2000-D

    Sorted (50 total)

(the "Other" include ones that may have slight finger prints :( - but are also toned)

Here is one of the "others"

Lousy picture of the same coin, but at least you can see the toning

I'll try to get more pics.
I did find one that had the "textile" toning. But didn't get a good enough picture - and it wasn't very intense, lol

What kind of purse is that? Looks like something a jester would prance around with in nottingham forest.
