Hi everyone, I was wondering if anyone can tell me about these coins I have. In the 1984 on the top of the word 'IN' appears to be doubled and the raised line through all the words is level to the height of the lettering along the middle. I can barely make out another 'L' in Liberty just before the original. In the 1989 the same kind of raised area is seen across the top running through the words but becoming more prevalent in word 'TRUST'. The 1989 seems to be missing the outside ring. All of these are normal on the reverse. Is this common? what is it called? Should extra care be taken when handling them? Any input would be greatly appreciated . %20%20%20%20%20[/IMG]
Indeed from worn dies. In the earlier years I believe the L on the rim was caused from worn master hubs, but on the zincolns I'm not sure if the master hub has anything to do with it. Anyone know about the L on zincolns?
