To my mind, this is how not to sell something on eBay. Does he really think anyone can actually even read the date on his coin? Slightly toned - really. Where? Is that anyone here who would even spent $100 for this? BTW, I am putting everything here because it will disappear soon.
I love it when sellers have crappy photos. I took a gamble on a blurry walker and a blurry v nickel once. Both turned out to be ms-64 and I got each for $5 each.
yea I agree that is really dumb..........this is the one that has driven me crazy for months........... I have emailed him over 5 times asking to see a close up of the bands. If the bands are what makes this coin go from a $25 coin to a $4500 coin dont you think you could provide pictures of them??? http://cgi.ebay.com/1945-P-MERCURY-..._Individual&hash=item483a2a824d#ht_1924wt_960
I hate obnoxious sellers. TYPING LIKE THIS TO DESCRIBE YOUR ITEM TO MAKE IT SOUND BETTER THAN IT TRULY IS, gets very annoying. Yes, I've made a few purchases based on blurry photos, I can only think of one that I really came out on top with. Paid $150 for a scanned MS67 FS 1943 D Nickel. I got it to me with absolute gorgeous toning, sent pics over to Todd, and I could easily sell the coin for $300, and probably more.
I would do it for him but I never figured out how to change my text to bright annoying colors. Richard
If an ebay auction has a blurry hard-to-see photo and the description does not go into detail on what it is that is up for auction, then I do not bother to bid on that particular ebay auction. It's too risky IMO.
What not to do on EBAY. I won on auction of 1892S Morgan Silver Dollar with a very Bad Photograph and Nobody Bid.Except me and a late Bidder but I do have an Extra Bid just in case someone snipe it. When it ship it look like I won in a Lottery. Lesson Try to learn the Sellers if he is Newcomer or Professional Seller in Ebay. Don't Judge Book on it's Cover...:hail: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110539196086&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT
