The management of the forum is a joke. Sure I think the forum is very grown-up, or at least was. You could swear, within reason, without a mod getting on your case, and you could even have a good debate, and they would let the threads go on for quite some time before any action was taken. Now if you have a debate at that forum, it is assumed as an attack or some kind of violation of the rules. Touche attacked Lehigh, Larry and I responded back. I responded in such a way that there could've been room for debate as to why he thought Lehigh was a small potato, and why CT was filled with just a bunch of kids. Really, there aren't too many kids here, and the majority of them are quite mature, and I doubt you'd really be able to tell if they were kids in the first place. I would've made that as my case, and directed Touche to many great threads that have been written here. Everything that I did, and would've done were in no violations. And Larry, with one little mishap, one small slip of the tongue gets the boot? A member for 9 years? That just isn't right. I know you are right, and we can spend our time here more often, their loss, CT's gain, but it certainly does raise for questioning and debate of how things are run at CU.
It happens on all sorts of forums, no matter what the forum may be about. In coin forums there are a lot of freaks, and they don't know when to stop. They can be absolutely relentless and can really be a cancer to the forum. We've had our fair share of freaks here. If you want to see some one example of who I speak of, PM me, I have a few threads you might want to look at.
I want to thank you all for the "reality check" at Collectors Universe (CU). I do not know a lot of this about CU about their bannings until I read the last few posts on this thread. I am also a member of CU but I mainly post in the "precious metals" section of CU. I guess I will have to be careful about what I post and how I post it on CU. I became a member of CU in April 2010 but I do not have very many posts there on CU because I spend more time here on CoinTalk (CT).
While I appreciate the effort and the thought, nobody needs to stick up for me. I'm still a member there myself and am more than capable But I don't even bother to read that forum anymore.
yes poor Gd needs help here from the dungeons of king spock. unfortunately tomoneyeagles is not avaialble here

Does the old trick still work? You try to sign on as the member (enter his name, and a random password), if he's been banned it should say "Login Denied, you are not authorized to login to the forums " If they aren't banned it should say "Your login credentials were invalid".
Thanks Mike, Here are the results Ldhair: banned Tmoneyeagles: banned Touche: banned Lehigh96: active
I know ya' are, but it what they said did bother me a tad. I think I saw a little of myself in what they were saying about you, talking about how many posts you have? Even though you've been here about 2 months after the site opened. (Based on when Peter's join date was) They were just complaining that you post on every thread, and that you are stubborn and too tough. Although, I think everything you do for this forum is great, and you are the best moderator on any forum that I've come in contact with. I got the same result when trying to log in my name using FireFox, BUT I'm still logged in on Google Chrome and I can PM people which I need to do for the BST forums. Looks like I'll be signed in forever.... It is good to see they banned Touche, but I bet he'll be coming here soon.
if you promote himt o mod you will have to do the magic tricks. he is the royal wizard even though he has fallen out of royal patronage for failling to catch the wabbit or was it a rat.
I doubt that very much. He was a troll who liked bad mouthing this site. Usually the elitists who are cast off of the CU forum end up on the CS (NGC) forum. Wherever he shows up I will be waiting to expose him for what he is. I put my snowball in the freezer!
I think it is possible. Trolls will be trolls, and they do tend to follow/stalk certain members. Unfortunately for him, you have home field advantage on both CS and CT.
I am an active reader of the forums mentioned here, but am not a member for many of the reasons brought up in this thread. Some of the threads over there certainly make me laugh, to be sure! Unlike this forum, they are very biased, as they should be, considering the forum is run by PCGS. Here, we get real opinions from a wide variety of people, and thats why I post here. CoinTalk rocks!
The compliments are appreciated :high5: Of course there was a time I used to get similar compliments over there too - http://forums.collectors.com/messageview.cfm?catid=26&threadid=210481 But that was before I became known as the Ogre of Coin Talk
Don't forget the glasses this time ! :kewl: Then I can start a collection http://www.cointalk.com/t92062/#post809220
