Is it just me or are other people getting smoked on Heritage????? Economy must be rebounding just fine. I bid $100 over PCGS suggested price and still lost:rolling:

Well, what have the specimens been selling for in comparison to what they've been selling for on the street?

IMO that's also an important consideration, in addition to PCGS.

Sorry. I was using a euphemism. I meant like dealers, or sites like fleabay, for instance.

I was speaking of dealers actually LOL!!! Honestly I live in the tri cities of michigan and you cannot find a single slabbed toned merc here......... This is no joke.

I hear you and understand. My girl's family is from Battle Creek / Kalamazoo... and for Michigan there isn't much there at all either...

But there are dealers online too, who'd charge the same as if you walked into their store :) McQueeney's, Allens', etc... Those prices could be used too, to calculate "street"...

Yes, I have noticed some auctions that are increasing in price, exceeding well past PCGS's price guide, and recent prices realized for similar coins.
I think there are still deals to be had though, coins always slip through the cracks...just gotta be patient and keep looking is all. ;)

  9. I am having the same experience. Not sure it is the economy rebounding though. It seems like there are some select people out there who just have the money to get what they want. TC

I just got my first win on Heritage.
And I got it for less than my max bid.
And my max bid was CDN Bid (with all the fees you HAVE to bid low or you'll end up overpaying).

I think shows are still the best source.

I think the dime you bid on is a high grade with CAC sticker, someone must have thought that one might grade higher so they too bid high, sometimes if coin look good and have CAC sticker, it will sell for higher than normal price. Price gude for that coin one grade higher is 3 times than the price of that coin.
