Is this a known error? I tried to do some research and I couldn't find anything on it. I'll post a picture as soon as I find my camera. I compared it to a "regular" looking 2000-P and this error coin looks alot shaper in the strike and the finish on both sides is much smoother.
Looks like a grease strike to me. Their must of been some greasy mint employees in 2000. I have found quite a few 2000 halves that have details missing due to grease
Grease-filled dies are fairly common. They aren't worth a lot, but they make great conversation pieces. If you knew someone by the name of Bert Young, you could probably sell it to him. Chris
Thanks for the responses. Is there any documentation that I can read up on this error. I would like to know more about it. I've tried searching the web but I can't find anything about this specific error. Sounds like it might not be worth that much. I could sell it. Is it worth grading it?
Stuck through grease. Common error, although each one is unique and your more extreme than many. Not worth getting graded, IMO.
