I thought it would be interesting and post some of my religious coins. I love these two the most in my collection, Enjoy and may God bless you all Don the preacher Man
I moved the thread to the appropriate section. And I'll participate - who can identify this one ? No cheating now !
Cannot really identify the piece, but obviously it has something to do with the Confessio Augustana http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Augsburg_Confession or rather its 200th anniversary. Christian
Living not too far away from Augsburg (well, in the same country), and speaking the language sure helps. Here is a recent piece from Germany, and while there are no "religious coins" these days, this one from 2007 commemorates Elizabeth of Thuringia (E. of Hungary) born 800 years before: (Image: German Numismatic Office) Christian
What gives here??? The originator of this thread gets his interesting coins moved to "the appropriate section." Yet, others are permitted to show their religious coins??? What makes SOME religious coins MORE appropriate than others??? Allow me to be the world-class-dummy, showing my foolish ignorance, by asking the stupid question ..... How do I find "the appropriate section?" I'm interested in learning more about the two attractive coins that were declared to be inappropriate.
The coins weren't removed this was originally posted in US coins which those coins obviously not it was then moved to the correct part of the forum. Ice
OK!!! Thanks for the explanation. Understand that being moved to the appropriate section is being moved TO, rather than FROM, this section. Went bonkers looking for another, unspecified, section. Now, I feel more foolish than earlier. It's Miller time!!!
