I will go with F-15. Nice coin, BTW.

I agree F-15, and a good shot for grading the coin. It shows the wear/detail very well.

My Greysheet (old one) says a F12 is $19 ask. If you can nit pick it that close, I would guess you could get $20 or a bit over for it.

Nice cent, I believe its a little closer to VF, F-18...

Agreed! Definately nicer than a 12 due to the fullness of the wheat lines.

I'll say 15 also. The reverse is nicer than that, but I suppose a coin is only as good as its obverse.

They are as good as its worst side, be that obv or rev.

I'm in the F-15 camp also, although the reverse is a solid VF.

Nice coin to find in a pile!

i'm thinking about cleaning this coin with ketchup since i had done another penny and had amazing results. would cleaning this one be bad? advice? leave it alone?

This would completely ruin its value. Never clean a coin unless you know it's worthless to begin with.

If you want a nice shiny penny for a couple of months that is worth about 50¢, go ahead and clean it. After that, it will start turning back to brown and still only be worth 50¢. Now, if you want one that others are interested in and is worth several dollars, DO NOT CLEAN IT!

If you clean it, the value will drop a LOT! LEAVE THE COIN AS IT IS. It's perfect just like that. Right now it's a $15-20 coin. If you clean it, it will be a $1-2 coin.

there is a big jump between the two grades, because its harder to find an example of that year and mm in higher grades. even though without doing more research $50 seems just a tad bit high.. i would say more like $40-$45
