found this in a pile of pennies my grandma gave me, just wondering what maybe its grade is and depending on that, its value Front http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/sandrock86/1910front.jpg Reverse http://i168.photobucket.com/albums/u186/sandrock86/1910reverse.jpg Thx
My Greysheet (old one) says a F12 is $19 ask. If you can nit pick it that close, I would guess you could get $20 or a bit over for it.
I'll say 15 also. The reverse is nicer than that, but I suppose a coin is only as good as its obverse.
i'm thinking about cleaning this coin with ketchup since i had done another penny and had amazing results. would cleaning this one be bad? advice? leave it alone?
This would completely ruin its value. Never clean a coin unless you know it's worthless to begin with.
If you want a nice shiny penny for a couple of months that is worth about 50¢, go ahead and clean it. After that, it will start turning back to brown and still only be worth 50¢. Now, if you want one that others are interested in and is worth several dollars, DO NOT CLEAN IT!
If you clean it, the value will drop a LOT! LEAVE THE COIN AS IT IS. It's perfect just like that. Right now it's a $15-20 coin. If you clean it, it will be a $1-2 coin.
oh and btw i saw the same coin vf condition in a coin shop and they were selling it for $50 bucks WTF!
^ there is a big jump between the two grades, because its harder to find an example of that year and mm in higher grades. even though without doing more research $50 seems just a tad bit high.. i would say more like $40-$45
