    Latest episode has someone bringing in a "1742" (1786) Lima style gold doubloon (see page 61 of the Red Book). 2 known, Red Book valuation of $700,000. Coin is bright gold

    When asked what the seller wanted, he said $2,000. Rick said he had to bring in an expert. The episode is on right now. Anyone want to guess if it is real?

    Wrong.

    1715 eight escudo, minted in Lima, Peru. There's a thread about it already, actually visible on the sideboard, about 2/3rds of the way down.

    My fault, I was trying to guess what the coin was and failed. I also missed the other thread. However, I will claim ignorance as an excuse as I don't know foreigns.
