I have the SVDB in grades from VF-30, XF-40, XF-45, AU-50, AU-55 and AU 58, 62-RB , 63 RB and RD, 64 RB and RD, and 65 RB........I could not win the 65 RD's available in the Long Beach sale.......I tried.......prices too high for me in this market I may pick a cheaper date I was totally inspired by Ilini and his 1908-S Indin grading set
Jack, Jack, Jack....Now you've done it. 12 SVDBs. Some are going to start thinking you are a high end dealer Probably precipitate another poll. But that's good, I need some "cheap entertainment" as you say. Jim
Jack, Do you mind sending them to me so I can get a closer look at all the coins. I promise I will send them right back when I am done.:kewl:
Jack, great set you've got there - and not a bad investment either! MS65 Red makes quite a costly jump, so just be patient, a nice one will come along. However, you might consider attending a coin show or two , I think that will really up your chances of finding one - but it would be best to go to one like Ontario or any other show where I'm set up just so we can catch up, play some poker, have a few margies!
The problem with trying that set is there are 66's out there. Oh! Then there are 67's. I think I would rather have my house.
and then you should come to the gun show in Mesa at the end of the month! anyhow, good luck on that set! :thumb:
Wow Jack, that's quite a set you have going there!! 65RD is tough because as you know there are really nice 65RDs and also ones that aren't so nice. The good thing is that there are enough 65RDs out there that with patience and a little luck I'm sure you'll be able to find a really nice example which ends up going for the price of a not so nice example I agree with Charmy too... I'm sure there will be a few nice ones at Ontario on the Saturday of the show
Dang you rich guys! You must have taken advantage of some less fortunate folks to get all those S-VDB's. I bet you hacked TomC's bank account. LOLOLOLOL :mouth:
That is a very impressive graded set indeed! Instead of picking a cheaper date, just work on the lower grades until the higher grade appears at the right price. TC
I do not plan on pushing this set past 65.....Im on a budget. I bought most of these during the peak, so I'm kinda buried in them now. But I plan on holding these for another 15-18 years so.......They will help buy my houseboat When I was a wannabee dealer, I usually had 5-8-10 in inventory as well. It has always been my favorite coin of all.
Jack, you ignorant, greedy slut! Stop thinking you're so self important and that we care about your collecting goals! :rolling: Just teasing.... Patience is the key (along with saving your money)! I don't own any flavor of SVDB and may not for a long time. I think it's cool what you are attempting to do.
