Gosh. The word "STUPID" and too much time on your hands come to mind. This whole thing should be in PWRE or whatever it's called - the forum where guys can sit around all day long and critique life.
HUH? AJ please stop polluting CoinTalk. You may have an issue with TomC, but do we ALL have to go through the drivel. Jeeeeez.
Normally it would be. But I am a firm believer in allowing discussion of or criticism of the site, or myself, to be allowed to continue right dead in the open where everybody can see it
That's great GD and I respect you enormously. This whole thing is hilarious. A cat fight between two members who don't even contribute to the day-to-day Cointalk forums. Hey! I've been on the PWRE or whatever it's called. This is like the BP oil spillover. I DO NOT want it to roll over to CoinTalk. These two indiviuals and others such as Leheigh have to work out their "stuff" with TomC. It should NOT be on the main CoinTalk boards. We're a board about COINS not about crapola. And I don't care how "important" a member is - such as AJ. Apparently different rules apply for him. Because if it was Joe.Blow@internet.com he'd be OUTTA here!!! Well. So be it. I'll just sit at the back of the bus - as allways
Perhaps your anger should be directed at the person responsible for corrupting this thread and all of the "crapola" in it. That person would be TomCorona. "Two members who don't even contribute to the day-to-day Cointalk forums" Well you got that half right. Jack has almost 7,000 posts in three years. I engage TomCorona almost daily on the PRWE forums precisely so he won't corrupt the Cointalk forum. Occasionally however, he still comes over here to start trouble. Nobody is to blame but him. The people in this thread who responded emotionally (including yourself) are not to blame. This forum has some of the best moderators you will ever find. If people get out of line, they will handle it. I don't think they need help from a guy sitting in the back of the bus.
No but he has a valid point. Normally stuff like this would not be allowed here. The only reason it is, is what I explained.
He made his valid point, you addressed it, and he felt compelled to lob an attack at both Arizona Jack and myself. My point is that his last post was completely out of line. The only person to blame for the "crapola" in this thread is TomCorona. Any one who bothers to venture over to PRWE and see what I have to put up with from TomCorona will understand. Very rarely does it spill over to Cointalk and when it does, TomCorona is always the instigator.
This thread exploded. With that said, let me speak my part... We're all born as men (or women) and, for the most part, we are all born equal. The situation we are born into can greatly vary, however. In spite of that, you are what you make yourself. To use my mother as an example, she was born into a military family as the fifth child. Her dad left in the middle of the night when she was three, and her mom was pregnant with twins, #6 and #7 in the family. My mom grew up destitute, couldn't even get a dime to go buy ice cream with the rest of her class. Despite these conditions, my mom worked hard, and made the most of every opportunity presented to her. Today, she's 51 years old, and makes north of 100k a year. In contrast, the oldest brother was fired from his job, and now lives off his pension. He's going through a divorce that is going to bankrupt him. Kid #2 makes about $30k a year. #3 doesn't work, her body was ravaged by drug abuse. #5 is a union laborer who makes around $45k. The twins are the most interesting example. Both dropped out of HS and got GED's, then got training for computers. Today, one makes very good money ($200k+) and has a great job, and the other is in and out of jail. Another contrast... I was born when my parents didn't make much money, but my family is pretty well off today. Despite that, I allowed my laziness to erode my potential. I didn't work hard, I took my financial well-being as a guarantee instead of something I'd have to work for, and I didn't take my education seriously. I attended community college for 4 years and racked up a substantial debt... all to avoid finding a FT job or losing my health benefits. Granted, I have a solid job today, but it's not a fun job, nor does the money pay as much as most of my friends make. It's retail management, horrible, horrible hours. If I could go back to when I was 16 and start over, I would. But I can't, and I don't hold that against anybody but myself. I was never screwed over, never stopped from doing anything and odds are, neither were you. Even then, I'm still happy, because I have great friends, a supportive family, and a loving girlfriend. I understand the mistakes I made, and I work to rectify them every day. Don't be mad at other people because you've fallen short of your expectations for yourself. It's never too late in life to turn things around. In summation, don't live life angry. Find the source of your anger and channel that energy into self improvement. I'm 23 years old and broke, while my friends are buying houses and brand new cars, and I'm still happy. It's not how much money you have, or how much you can afford to spend on coins that matters in this world.
Ya know, what a lot of folks on here consider an attack, and what I consider an attack - are two entirely different things. Criticism is not an attack, it is criticism. And anybody who can't deal with criticism, well, they must have a really hard time in life is all I can say. Because dang - everybody, but everybody gets criticism from somebody else. You either accept it and deal with it, or you ignore it. Life is too short to worry about criticism.
Fair enough, but I consider what he wrote below an attack on AJ and I could easily see him substituting my name after the "such as". If his post was criticism, consider mine counter criticism.
Gosh. Where to go with this. My "attack" is against GD if anyone. WHY do we need the AJ vs. TomC thing on this forum. If you click on the pages, there has been no coin related information for the past few pages. WHY IS IT STILL IN THE "COIN TALK" Section? Lehigh - that is my point - THIS thread has nothing to do with coins and why isn't it in the thread where you guys tear each other apart? When I come home, I just want to read about coins - call me stupid or uncivilized or ignorant, but I have children to educate and a bunch of people to support. I don't want to read how Arizona Jack is an idiot and LeHigh is a gambler. I can tape it - it's called Law & Order - SVU
Wow! So you must be the Chaos DUDE!!! Moderators are not necessary in your world! Post what you like!!!
Okay, I obviously took your post the wrong way. My apologies for my over reaction. And by all means proceed, I did not mean to get in your way of criticizing Doug.

LeHigh - your contributions to CoinTalk have been awesome. I don't like Toned coins and I'm not a fan of the toned philosophy - But I will say you are one of the best things that has happened to CoinTalk since I joined in 2007. Turn peoples heads around. Make them feel uncomfortable. Awwww Heck - Make 'em sweat so they'll appreciate what they have. Thanks - Lehigh Still a boo-hoo to GD as to why this thread is still open!!!
I haven't commented up until now but I feel I have to say one thing. This thread is GD's ultimate no win scenerio. If he shuts down this thread he will get heat for closing it because some comments were made about him. If he doesn't shut it down then he gets boo-hoos from you. If this thread bothers you so much why do you keep coming back to it? Richard
I can't believe I've been trying to figure out this thread for the last half hour , a complete waste of time . rzage
