Well looking at the poll 34 of us want the prices to go down But 2 don't probaly...lol Looks like a good sample to match up with what Peter said.
With that kind of logic, then, if you work for a millionaire, you are a millionaire. Clembo's an employee, not a dealer. Dan, are you a millionaire? :smile
I've sold some of my coins that I've replaced with nicer specimens, but that doesn't make me a dealer. I think it makes me smart enough not to hold on to too many coins that no longer interest me.
PFCBEGA - It depends on your job description. Are you a cataloger? Buyer? Salesman? If you work as a photographer for a coin dealer, then you are a photographer - NOT a dealer!
Let's take that a bit farther shall we... If you work for a Doctor are you a Doctor? If you work for a Lawyer are you a Lawyer? If you work for an Engineer are you a Engineer? I'm not thinking so...I think that would make you a Nurse or something else, a Paralegal or something else, and a I dont know what but not an Engineer
Hey Peter, Most of my sales are trough ebay, But lately sales are stronger with indivituals contacting me trouch the Icelandic numismatic association. I should have mentioned that I´m firstly a collector but my collection could not be so strong if I was nota coin dealer. It has brougth me closer to alot of gems I´m not sure I would have gotten with out the wealing and dealing of coins.
here's my logic... if you work for wal-mart, target, or the gap, inc., you are a retailer. if you work for kroger, piggly wiggly, albertson's. the fresh market, or winn-dixie, you are a grocer. if you work for a chevy, toyota, or ford dealer, you are a car dealer. if you work for heritage auctions, hyde park coins, lost dutchman coins, the penny lady, or coins plus, you are a coin dealer. you don't have to be the owner to be what the company is. i work for the gap, inc., but i don't own it. does that not make me a retailer? i also sell beer for the cincinnati reds at great american ballpark, does that not make me an alcohol seller? i own neither company. AND THAT IS MY LOGIC.
In his department? Dealer. My favorite line is that I'm not a dealer; I only work for one. But then I don't handle coins all day -- just when they let me near the good stuff.
you notice that as well. i hope your holding on to those jems .i have come across a few of them as well. and will hold them as long as i can . i find people are looking every where to find some where to get the extra yoyo sorry the euro to pay the bills.
swish yours is quite right too. I'd say it's what you call yourself as only you know your own situation.
I disagree. If I work for Walmart, Target or the Gap (Ford or Toyota), that makes me an employee of that organization or company. Not a retailer or dealer. The owner of said company or organization is the retailer...or dealer.
