People of the "upper tier" caliber is what I meant. Their attitude. Their common link. MEGA CASH.

BTW..when is the last time you heard of anyone getting richer exploiting other rich folks?

Jealousy scans for evidence to prove the point - that others will be preferred and rewarded more than you. There is only one alternative - self-value. If you cannot love yourself, you will not believe that you are loved. You will always think it's a mistake or luck. Take your eyes off others and turn the scanner within. Find the seeds of your jealousy, clear the old voices and experiences. Put all the energy into building your personal and emotional security. Then you will be the one others envy, and you can remember the pain and reach out to them. " ~Jennifer James

No dude...we all weren't given the same opportunities. There's your disconnect. A common "upper tier" one, nonetheless.
We were all born too. So, why didn't all of us inherit the same wealth rich babies inherited? Answer. We weren't all "given the same opportunities". Gimme a break dude.

For the purposes of this forum..it doesn't matter at all. I didn't start the thread. Sorry you're uncomfortable with the subject of wealth.

I have at one time or another flown Cointalkers in for coinshows....but not because I'm rich, but because of the nature of my job..I get perks and I love coins

I hang with " penny collectors" and those with world record gold collections, yannow what, we never have judged each others incomes.,,,

I have had dinners with the high end of this site, and traded no date buffaloes with the other end. It is you my friend who is judgemental.

And on our " sister" forum, I have made more friends of the " oppisite persuasion " than I can count. Yiou are a rare breed. Full of anger. Get over it.

If DanR and I, or Clembo and I can party for a night ( and we have) you are the problem sir.......Clembo, back me up here bro......

Tom, I am offering you help.......I will even PM you my phone number....you need to lose the anger at those who have more, and ask yourself how you can get more.....this is America, it is available to all of us

First, let me just say that I don't believe anyone has to justify or explain how much they do or don't earn - to anyone on the planet! And since when did that matter to being involved in and enjoying collecting coins???? GEESE!

That being said, when I first read Tom's post about CT beinhg made up more of "upper class" type people, I thought I misread his post and had to do a doubletake, because my experience here on CT especially has been the exact opposite. With only a few exceptions, the people who post here have been the most down to earth, "regular" coin people I've experienced, NO ONE MORE SO THAN JACK. Jack has freely given his time, knowledge, experience, and even money to help others here on CT. He has even given up his frequent flyer mileage just to sponser other CT people to be able to attend a large coin show. Who else can say they've done even 1/10th of that for strangers they only met here on a coin forum? Not me.

I don't know what you guys mean by "300,000" but I am guessing you are referring to annual income? I buy and post some pretty nice coins here, some cost me quite a lot, but that doesn't mean I fall into any kind of high income bracket, not at all. I love coins and buy and sell coins to earn a living, and I get to see some pretty amazing pieces out there, some of which I bend over backwards and do what I can to be able to acquire. I make sacrafices.

No one, not you or anyone here on the boards, know what I do or what anyone else does or what kind of sacrafices we make to buy our coins - and I/we don't owe anyone - not anyone - an explanation about any of this. Nor does anyone owe anyone an explanation as to why they collect what they do, no matter how expensive or inexepensive it is.

Coins are about enjoyment to most people, and if those coins happen to be a good investment as well, all the better. Tom, who are you to classify and judge people based on their collecting desires and thoughts, or to compare them to the people who caused the oil spill, etc. Wow, if I may say, to me you are way off base, and quite inappropriate.

Reality must be one of your strong suits, no doubt.

I really need to? Or what?
I see what is evident. Again, sorry it makes you uncomfortable. Next subject.........

Doesn't make me one bit uncomfortable. I know where I came from and where I am. I enjoyed every minute of the journey, because reaching the goals was important, but the lessons learned on the journey were well worth it. I have not reached the final goal, but I will, and plan to enjoy every leg of the journey.

It's ok with me if you are unhappy with your lot in life, but you have just as much of an opportunity to change it as anybody else, having anger toward those that take advantage of opportunities presented is really sad.

Look man...there are those that hate "how do you clean a coin?" questions. There are those that hate extreme wealth. I choose the latter. It is the cause ALL that is evil. It's called greed. In case you hadn't noticed lately...the world is full of it. I like my anger. It helps keep me clear of the evil that is on parade daily. Anger helps you see very clearly sometimes.

    Tom,

Over on the PRWE forum, you told me that you were married with children. I will assume that you spend $10K+ per year to provide for your children. For those of us who are not married and don't have children, wouldn't it be possible for us to spend $10k+ per year on coins and have the same level of income as you?

Not every Republican is rich Tom. If I told you what corporate America has done to me, you would not believe it. But I don't use it as an excuse to foster hatred towards others. Jack is right, you really need some help at this point.

There is only one person in this discussion who strikes me as uncomfortable or has any problems discussing wealth - or, in your logic, the path to poverty.

His "frequent flyer mileage"????? Need I say more?

Most frequent flyer mileage, Jack's included, are earned from BUSINESS trips paid for by employers! How does that equate to being rich? Again, geese, get a grip and quit grasping for something that's not there just to try and back up your twisted logic.

Well...thanks Bud. Not every republican is rich...but most corporate greedsters are republican.

No...it isn't possible to spend 10,000 dollars a year on coins if you're living in reality in today's world, with today's financial obligations, on the average income paid by today's average corporate employers to today's average employees. Coin collecting anything but a "piece of ****" (to quote you) is a rich man's game. To be rich...you have to have screwed somebody over to get there.

Don't hold back on the assumptions. I'm sure that on a whim he just flies off to Barrow, Alaska because he heard from a friends, friends, neighbors, cousins, babysitter they saw a couple landlocked polar bears and he wanted to see their rescue. (and an inuit had a 1909s vbd)

He cannot and will not. From the sounds of this, he is trying for suicide by moderator so he can accuse us of picking on him at his new voice box - wherever that may be.
