This coin has been graded by PCGS. I would like your opinions on the grade before I revealed their grade.
    Thank you

Genuine holder, and if it isn't it ought to be.

Would you please enlighten me as to why you would think it is un-gradeable?
    Thanks

Thought it was obvious, the large scratch right across the cheek and the hair. The coin is damaged.

Here is a list of many that have less severe damage and in less of a prime focal area than yours and they were all slabbed as damaged - Click Here

Damaged? Because of a nick on the cheek? lol

    AU 55ish, IMO.

The fact that he said it has been graded is what leads me to guess it's an MS62 instead of being slabbed genuine. However, taking into account that most people who make a thread here asking what the grade of their coin probably is are usually unhappy with the assigned grade, I should probably revise that to AU58 or 55.

Yes, it was graded. In this case, I am not unhappy with the grade assigned by PGCS. I will post the grade this evening.

You guys are better than me. I really can't accurately grade this coin from those photos but if I had to guess, MS62 sounds about right. I like the reverse.

While the scratch is distracting and certainly will affect the grade of the coin, there is no way that scratch should result in a body bag. I have seen much worse on many a graded coin.

Amen to that brother. I have a thread that I am working on that discusses that very issue. Stay tuned!

I cannot tell for sure whether it is a 55 or a 62. From your comments, I would assume you got the 55.

9 out of the 10 are marked scratched. And the 10th should nor even be in that group, but it showed up in the search.

Yes, 6 of them are also marked as Cleaned. But even if they had not been cleaned they would still be in the problem coin slabs just like the ones that are not marked as cleaned.
