http://cgi.ebay.com/1966-KENNEDY-SI...em&pt=Coins_US_Individual&hash=item3cada1f41e something special I missed on this one?
That's funny because you are exactly correct. It has a big fat fingerprint on the right hand side clear as day, but the auction says: "Coin is and it will be always handled with gloves. Never with bare hands." Of course it also says he will NOT combine shipping and insurance (at $2.99 + $1.52) if you buy another of his coins. "Sorry, I do not offer combine shipping nor combine insurance." My guess is someone really needed a 1966 to fill their set and put in a top bid and someone else is playing spoiler. Either that or a shill. :goofer:
It could be one of the many doubled dies of that year although it does not say so. IMO, it is way overpriced. :rolling: TC
For an circulated silver clad coin, that is an outrageous amount to pay then add the shipping. All for a $2 Kennedy.
I sent the seller a question about that, since they stated that "Coin is and it will be always handled with gloves. Never with bare hands."
If its a non SMS coin, its a fairly nice looking 1966. Except for that hit on the neck, I'd guess MS65 based on the photo's alone. In hand may be a different story though.
Here is the response: Dear , I don't know. you shouldn't have gotten one. The fingerprint may perhaps belongs to the previous owner. I never clean my coins. Once I acquire them I always handled them with gloves. I am sorry this happened. Do you want an exchange? Please advise. Thank you. - wgi8
Seems like a canned response. Must be a regular thing if he can't be troubled to even tell which sale it's from.
I realize that. I guess my point was he doesn't know who bought the coin and he doesn't really seem to know which coin. Doesn't it seem to you like he is responding as if you were an aggrieved purchaser? :kewl:
Oh definitely. I could tell is was more a form response. Course too, I did hide my email from him, but my user name was visible to him.
