I am cleaned encrusted coins and finding what I think are common 4th century Roman examples. Every 5th or 6th coin is something completely different, however. The recent oddity is a feminine looking head on a small coin...I've found from the internet that this is called a "veiled" image. One illustration looked like mine, but she was called Paulina. Somehow I am suspicious that mine is not Paulina. On the reverse is an ambiguous human figure flanked by N,M (or Mi?) Any insight would be most appreciated. Regards, Mark
That was quick Thanks gents...I'm convinced that's exactly what it is. Seems like a bunch of detail was milled off the extremes of the coin, making it smaller. Seems to be missing much of the text.
