Heritage shows a number of small size notes from the First Wisconsin National Bank in Milwaukee (Charter 64) in AU-UNC that sold between $100-200.00 including a $20.00 note in UNC that sold May 11 for $104.00. The First National Bank of Wausau Wisconsin (Charter 2820) has Type 1 $5.00 notes that are also available in UNC for $100-200.00.
Thanks for the tips on Nationals guys. Since I am working on a St Louis FRN collection right now, I would naturally like to add some of the St Louis bank notes to that greater collection. Not that I need every bank from St Louis, but the ones I see are pretty rough looking and pricey!
reiljj00 there is not a E there so we'll wait or I would post it for you. Nice notes there btw. lettow thanks for the heads up on those. I'll have to keep an eye on them. And Krispy....
I have my work cut out for me with the FRNs, and to add these, that's something else, but I want some to represent the greater collection!
I was just thinking the same...I don't have a Kansas City National Bank note!! lol It's a good thing I have these already as my new stuff is going very slowly being jobless That will change one day and watch out then
A dealer friend turned me on to this note several years ago...it is one of only a few known drawn on this New York Bank..it was formerly in the Thomas Flynn Collection and I feel lucky to have it. RB Here is another from Troy, NY and it is fairly common. and another National from Rochester, NY I disagree with the 66 grade as it is askew on the reverse but would rank it a 65. and last but not least.. the $1 Original..
Wow again a date back, mellon and of course the last is the best to me with great consditions as always Rickie!! Krispy you wanted some higher graded ones..well we knew we should have messaged Rickie But that's not a "E" so we're still waiting for a bank that starts with E in the name of the city or state.
I'm not waiting any longer for an E or Duke's F. Here is a G $10.00 1882 Date Back on the McCartney National Bank of Green Bay (ex-Chet Krause Collection).
Fantastic notes!!! This thread has a really wonderful concept that would also make for an interesting approach to a person collection. Thanks RickieB and Lettow! for your latest additions to these threads. Also thanks for the earlier reply to why many of these type notes are found in low grades. Makes very reasonable sense. RickieB: I'm glad to see you back on CT, posting to the threads and sharing your collection once again. Also, I'll take this moment to thank you for your service to the nation. Thank you. There appear to be many members of CT who served and we owe you all a heartfelt debt of gratitude. Thank you one and all.
Ohh nice G!! That's up there with Rickie style!! Back down to earth notes is my F We still need that E and now we're on H
Still waiting for that E I'll move on to H as I have a doozy of a state Now other then the E it's I and I have that if we don't come up with one.
