you should be able to pick a couple of cc morgans in the gsa holders for that amount and still have a little left.

I would agree with 1, but certainly not 2. Even the most common, the '83 is going to cost $180-$200.

Do you want an uncirculated CC morgan dollar or a circulated version? If you like them UNC go with an 82 or 83 cc, for that price you could get one that's raw, or in a GSA holder.
If you like a circulated CC, I'd recommend an 1879 cc in VF 20 or so, you should be able to get a nice one for that price. It's a semi key date, so it should hold its value. I personally like circulated morgans, especially CCs, makes me think of the "old west" and wonder who might have held that coin at one time.

You could get a nice 82CC, 83CC or 84CC in MS64 for that money and have some left over or you could maybe spend just a little more and get an 1878CC (first year of issue) in MS63. I like the 1878CC design because it was only produced using the 78 Reverse (PAF) with 7 tailfeathers.

That's about what I paid for my 82CC, 83CC and 84CC in GSA holders certified by NGC.

A nice little piece of history and they look great on your bedroom dresser.

Yep, but he can still keep it in his price range for sure!

If you are a little patient, Ice, you will find some good ones out there at good prices.

You are right, I bought my first one for 175, my second one for 160, that comes to more than 300. For some reason it came out in my mind as about 250... Getting older requires some adjustment, I NEVER used to have to use a calculator, I started to use one a year or so ago in trigging out true lengths of certain objects, Getting older is not fun, but it sure beats the alternative.

Pick up some raw ones, less money than the slabbed.

After reading this thread I didn't realize I could get a GSA in that price range. I might pick up a GSA with all the paper work and then use the rest to maybe pick up a CC dime. If anyone has one to sell send me a PM I would rather trust you than take my chance on e-bay or if you know a reliable seller on e-bay PM me. Thanks Tim

Hi- the 1882 CC is a good choice for under $200 with the GSA Holder.
